The Spot was marketed lightly in the film's trailers and ads, but he ended up becoming one of the scariest and most malevolent forces in any Spider-Man film. His theme is constructed in odd five note phrases, mainly performed through wirey, dingy strings and whistling. His theme is off-kilter and weird, which I think more than fits the character at the start. But as his menace and threat grows, that weirdness is less comical and silly and becomes something far more evil and destructive. The theme becomes a distorted, chaotic, malevolent, and unhinged theme that strikes me as one of the most unique musical themes for a Spider-Man villain in a long time.

    >can’t rob a deli >can now collapse a universe by sheer will

This man really went from "Just let me rob you" to showing Spiderman eldritch prophecies within the space of an hour
  • "My holes can take me places" is the best quote of any villain in cinematic history
  • @BlackLotus2077
Dude went from a jokester with interesting powers to a certified threat
  • @theeskrungly
Having a bagel thrown at you to becoming an eldritch horror is probably the biggest domino effect in cinema history.

What's sad is that this character genuinely just seems like a wacky yet kind scientist, but because of how he was treated, he snapped and became the "bad guy".

"See you back home, Spider-Man" I cant wait to see him in Beyond the Spider Verse
  • @Ostermond
    “What was that?” ”Our future.”
  • The character just became a full on menace and the theme proved that he became a destructive creepy force in the end and the themes chaoticness perfectly reflects that

I love how the Spot starts as a goofy vilain to become a real threat. That's basically what every super vilain did in comic book history
  • @starsilverinfinity
Imagine powering up so hard that you give your nemesis a flash forwards of a horrible future you'll inflict on them

I LOVE the visuals of Spot. The almost sketch-like nature to him, visual transformation from white with little black, to full on dark nightmare-ish at the end. Feels more menacing that Kang did.

How did the developers of this film look at the spot and just say "Yep lets turn this guy who no one can even remember into a cosmic horror that will destroy the entire multiverse or beyond and no one can stop him"
  • @kenobigaming5755
The way they did Spot is like Avatar but the Cabbage Man becomes the Fire Lord
  • @cristobaltaiba5031
I didn't expect anything from this character, but it was a big surprise and it has good moments
  • @boxman7044
Keep in mind that in the comics the spot becomes a ruthless assassin that uses his powers to creatively kill people and becomes almost untouchable (until the writers decided to axe him from the story)

I can’t WAIT to see Spot in beyond the Spider-verse. I loved how he just went from villain of the week to a multiversal threat
