I could listen to this all day. Thank you for making this lecture accessible.
  • Dr. Hoffmeier, greetings from DTS in Denver. Exodus date fits 1313 BCE, which is 2448 AM. During that year Horemheb was closing Amarna. People had to go back or go somewhere else, but they had to EXIT Amarna. 2448 is the traditional date in Orthodox Judaism. And your explanation for Abraham being given goods by the Pharaoh as a bride price/diplomatic marriage protocol is very persuasive!

Philistine refers to the land in Nubia. After Abraham left Ishmael and Hagar at the valley of Bakkah, he and Sara together with Isaac travelled south into Yemen leaving sarah and issac there. Abraham thereon crossed into Abyssinina where Phillistine was located.
  • Regarding David and Jonathan, Saul qualifies for us to make his meaning absolutely clear. He accused his son Jonathan and David, saying, "Thou son of the perverse, rebellious woman, do I not know that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse to thine own confusion, and to the confusion of thy mother's nakedness?" Obviously, Jonathan has chosen David (who was reportedly extraordinarily handsome) for a lover. There's no two ways about it. I think the trouble people have with this is the idea that God chose a very human man to use to work his will. David also sinned grievously in committing adultery with another man's wife, then sending him out to die. David was far from perfect. God may choose whomever He will to achieve His purpose. David was humbled by God's punishment. He didn't defy God. That's the important thing. Christians should always keep in mind that God is forgiving. God hates the sin, not the sinner.

The same way the tribal groups in Pakistan and Afghanistan live in a similar manner, mostly in the way of tribal alliances. They will make alliances then fight another group and then change sides and fight the group they were previously aligned with. I was caught in the middle of a firefight between two tribal factions in the border area, bullets and mortar rounds flying all over the shop.
  • The sums don’t add up here. The Hyksos rulers would not have been around at the time of Joseph if Abraham met one 1000 years before?

You could find Amorite forgeries in the tale of King Menes who kicked them out of the Delta by Kmt unified army in 3150 BC. Amorites lie by saying that Kmt was divided into two kingdoms. While the Delta was swamps, and Kmt was only south of Geza and composed of various 22 local kingoms. The history of Ugarit, Ebla, Sumer and Kmt are full Hyksos, and their offshoots, silly baseless stories.

Solomon married many many women bcos he wanted to spread his kingdom all over Africa which is the Promised Land. Adam grew out of soil from this Promised Land and thereon Eve came. They both were told to descent from the highlands(which was Paradise) and walked the earth.
