To celebrate Kenny’s new love of football/soccer, I challenge Kenny to complete the NBA Soccer challenge! Create a team with these soccer positions and terminology, using their nba counterparts. Do a fantasy draft and use either San Antonio or Boston (whichever of the two has the lowest draft pick), because they share a name with two famous teams in the UK, the Spurs and Celtic. 1. Goalkeeper: Someone who puts their body on the line to protect the net. This player must have the rim protector badge and average at least 1.5 blocks last season. 2. Centre-Back: The leader of the defensive unit, they are a big presence for the attack to deal with. This player must have the Intimidator badge and a strength stat of at least 80. 3. Full Back: One of the most versatile players, being able to defend and start counter-attacks. This player must have both the tireless defender and the break starter badge. 4. Defensive Midfielder: The sweeper of the team, with the ability to dispossess attackers with a well timed tackle. This player must have the pickpocket badge and average at least 1.5 steals last season. 5. Central Midfielder: This player can do it all, doesn’t have a weakness. This player must have at least two badges in all four categories of finishing, shooting, playmaking and defending. 6. Attacking Midfielder: A threat on the ball, is able to pick out defence-splitting pass and score long range goals. This player must have a three-point rating of 75 or more and average at least 6 assists last season. 7. Winger: A fast player who zips down the side of the pitch, leaving defenders lying in their wake. This player must have the acrobat badge and an speed with ball stat of 75. 8. Striker: Puts the ball in the back of the net, no ifs, ands or buts. This player must have at least 12 combined finishing and shooting badges. 9. Captain: The leader of the squad, the heart and soul of the team. Loyal to his players. This player must be at least an eight-year veteran and have played for two teams or less during his career. 10. Champions League: The biggest yearly tournament in soccer. All players dream of being apart of this game. This player must have played in the NBA finals at some point in his career. 11. Penalty Taker: The player who takes the penalty kicks after fouls in the box. This player must have the ice in veins badge and a free-throw rating of at least 80. 12. Wonderkid: The next generation of the sport, rising through the ranks right before your eyes. This player must have been a top 5 draft pick from the last four years. 13. International Cap: The dream of every player is to play for the national team. This player must have played in the FIBA World Cup this year. Put all these players into an eleven-man rotation, the amount of players on the pitch for one team in a soccer game, and try to win a championship. Good luck!
