Nigeria Shuts Down Chinese Supermarket Over Alleged Racism | Firstpost America

A Chinese-owned supermarket in Nigeria's capital Abuja has been shut by the authorities over allegations that it denied entry to African shoppers. The supermarket in Abuja allegedly only permitted people of “Chinese descent” to enter its premises. The supermarket is located in a building that is run by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. The closure of the supermarket came after massive outrage among Nigerians after some locals shared experiences of being denied entry into the store for not being Chinese. The Chinese store has now been closed until the owner testifies to the Nigerian consumer watchdog. China has been notorious for its racism against Africans, with reports suggesting that racism against Africans on Chinese social media was at an all-time high.

Same thing that happens in the Philippines. However the government in the Philippines won't stand up for their citizens.

This also happened recently in Jamaica. A Chinese-owned hotel basically barred all Jamaicans from it. The result? A very large pile of ashes... 🤣

Good thing Nigeria addressed discrimination by Chinese. It's their land.
  • @BillieB.
The pure audacity is astonishing. The supermarket should remain closed and the owners should be deported.
  • As a black South African I stand with Nigeria, power to the Nigerian officials for having a backbone standing up for their people, not this spineless South African government not even Malema is standing up to China, Chinese are very discriminating.
