It was my understanding that your own settlements don't break the longest road. You may want to look into that and note the video.

Some of the gameplay is incorrect. For e.g. Robber cant stay on same tile forever. It needs to be moved whenever 7 is played else it will give unfair disadvantage to 1 player. Also longest road is taken into account from start till end even when a player has settlement or city build on it. That is not considered as cut-off.
