Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire came out on November 21st, 2014. I never played the original Pokemon Emerald so I was very happy back then playing these remakes.
But just how good are they 9 years later? This is Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire 9 Years Later.

Can't believe ORAS came out almost 9 years ago, ORAS still feels so recent

ORAS, when a remake actually meant something. When it could at least be debated if third version or remakes were better
  • @KolaTheBear
You aren't going to convince me that the remake of a game that I played 11 years prior is now almost 10 years old. That's impossible.
  • @Garde_Mystik
Emerald does not have more content than ORAS. It's just that its postgame content is almost entirely centered on the battle frontier.

Currently playing ORAS again. Its amazing. Tbh it would be awesome if they released a Delta Emerald version for a cheap price. It could be 90% the same game with extra content of emerald and fixing some issues here and there, maybe introducing new megas etc. Just a fan fantasy I have for us the early gen lovers.

I absolutely adore generation three. While I did start with generation one with Pokemon Red, Pokemon Sapphire ended up being one or the games I played the most. The Pokemon games, especially generations 1-3, are so relaxing/nostalgic to me. This video definitely made me want to replay generation three again. :)

Crazy that nearly as much time has passed between ORAS and now as between the original games and ORAS

I love going back to games from my childhood like this, just soaking in all of the good vibes and not being excessively critical. it always frustrating when a retrospective is trying to break a game into a million pieces and compare a 10 year old game to elden ring and god of war. Of course a lot of old games will have issues, game design improves that just how it is, but it nice to go back and appreciate a game for what is was while pointing out issues that genuinely could've been solved back in the day.

XY and oras were the first games I constantly watched trailers, looked for the korokoro scans and so on. What a time man.

My first game was Emerald but trust me Omega Ruby holds a special place in my heart.
  • @SuperGreenLuigi
Never got to play ORAS but Emerald was one of my first Pokemon games back in the early days. It's nice to see ORAS getting the love it deserves these days.
  • Your video is criminally underrated, love your editing and going over these remakes, these need to be remembered more and I’m glad people are talking about it now
  • @ShadyRK9
I remember the hype ORAS had. I remember getting an exclusive poster for the game for pre-ordering it!
  • @StrayTato
My thoughts: Sucks that the battle frontier was removed, but I feel like soaring absolutely makes up for it. Soaring lowkey made ORAS the true first openworld Pokémon games

I was one of the lucky people to play each gen in order as a child. Got Red in 98 as a two year old haha. That said, Hoenn is and always been my favorite region, and Omega Ruby is my favorite Pokémon game. I loved playing gen 6 competitive, too! Treecko’s always been my favorite starter since gen 3, and Skarmory is always on my Hoenn team, since it’s my favorite Pokémon and it’s available much much earlier relatively in Gen 3 compared to its debut. TL:DR, great video, love the games lol
  • Oras is one of the most underrated Pokémon remakes. It changes just enough so that it doesn’t just feel like a copy and paste remake of the original and feels fresh instead of just feeling like a straight remake.
  • Crazy to me we’ve made it far enough for this to be someone’s childhood game😂 I still remember the OG as a kid and it was my favorite ❤️
  • literally soft resetting for a treeko right now as i saw this to replay with only shinies, awesome vid keep it up!
