Published 2024-05-16
VLC112 discusses the various ways in which language has been an object of study and is meant to familiarize the student with the terminology, methodology and technology of 21st century linguistic science. Throughout the course, students will be required to analyze language data from a variety of different languages using modern tools and technolgies where possible in order to develop a feeling for and proficiency in the proper techniques of linguistic analysis.

The course is free for everyone. It contains introductory modules, modules that provide an overview of phonetics and phonology, as well as modules on morphology. And not unexpectedly, Syntax constitutes a core area and semantics and pragmatics are also in this list, which is growing, updated and quality assured on a regular basis.
