Published 2019-04-02
Visit Fort Worth Stockyards – historic national district that’s home to western America.
Cowboys, steers, rodeos, honky tonks, line dancing, six shooting and much more. The most famous thing about the Fort Worth Stockyards is the cattle drive, where they parade the cattle through the streets twice a day.

Its nice to have a place like the FW Stockyards inside of such a modern city. Slows things down a bit.

I am from Fort Worth. The little cattle drive is reminiscent of the Chisholm Trail of which Fort Worth was a major stop. Millions of cattle were herded through Fort Worth. It's a wonderful city that still has a small town feel

I'm from Ft. Worth and your presentation reminds me how homesick I am. Thank you for enjoying too.

We went there all the way from South Africa, was a highlight!

Those are Texas Longhorn cattle, and yes their horns are massive. Joe T Garcia's mexican restaurant nearby is also a must. Other things to do nearby: Fort Worth zoo, botanical gardens, biking along Trinity River, the US Mint (There are only 2 places in the US where paper money is printed: Washington DC and Fort Worth, TX- and the tours are worth the trouble). There are plenty of sport venues, shopping, concerts, restaurants, and museums in the DFW (Dallas -Fort Worth) area. Also Glen Rose has Dinosaur Valley state park where you can see a couple of dinosaur footprints in the riverbed. Enjoy the laidback friendly culture!

Thank you for coming to Fort Worth. I just want out of towners to know that we are not a little bitty city. Fort Worth is a major city but it’s heritage is the wild wild western lifestyle. The stockyards is a small piece of Fort Worth

Some of my family and I have lived in fort worth for generations. We pass by the stockyards daily from down town all the way through main st and 28th st. Back in the 90s lowriders ,hot rods and motorcycles would cruise bumper to bumper on Saturday nights. It was raw, live and wild it was our blvd like the way east LA still does it till this day. Watching the stockyards through outsiders perspectives makes me appreciate where I live a little more . Especially now that Yellowstone is being filmed at this moment its really cool to watch from the side lines.

Great video! The daily cattle drives represent when cattle would be driven from Texas to Oklahoma/Kansas/Missouri for sale. There are cattle drive trails that are now very busy roads in Texas, like 289 aka Preston Road which ends (on the north) at the Texas/Oklahoma border in the town of Preston where the cattle would cross the Red River. Texas history is very interesting!
  • I used to go to the stock yard in fortworth when i was 5 i moved away and i havent been there since and i am watching to remember
  • Doing my annual street team photoshoot here this weekend! Class of 2021 is so excited!

I was looking for cool things to do in FW and I came across this video. I was wondering why is everyone finding a bunch of cows walking on the street as "cool"? Then I realized, I come from India and it is pretty common to see random cows chilling on the streets in any Indian city.
