Sam, I thought you'd like to hear this - it LOOKS LIKE (not 100% certain) those pickles were lacto-fermented pickles. It just means they become pickles via fermentation (they're still alive!) Vs a classic pickle which is a vinegar brine type pickle. You might enjoy vinegar/briney pickles more than lacto-fermented ones, which tend to be more sour than bright and dill-y
