Due to an odd twist of politics, China controls most of the water in Asia as it originates in Tibet, meaning that China's downstream neighbours depend on the goodwill of CCP for a reliable freshwater supply. So, in this video, we take a look at how China controls Asia's water, why it's becoming an issue, and what might happen next.

  • Ok, so there are some factual inaccuracies. Hydrological survey of Brahmaputra showed that 80% of the water in the river comes from the catchment area in India and not Tibet. Similarly, Indus captures water later as it crosses into Pakistan
  • @nomulahemanth
This poor Channel couldn't even put a Proper Map & they are explaining about "China,Water,Asia..",My as*, 80-85% of Water of Indus,Ganges, Brahmaputra originates in Indian Himalayas,Just Becoz their Starting Point is in China, Doesn't mean They have 100% of Water Coming from them, Learn Basics first AND USE PROPER MAPS,India has 65% of Control of Ladakh and Kashmir & 100% Control over Arunachal Pradesh
  • @yohannvt31
Fear of Brahmaputra water diversion might be a myth.. according to an article I read by United states institute of peace , % of water in Brahmaputra entering from China, might be as low as 7% . Such low % of water controlled by China , must be the reason Indian govt is not taking this too seriously
  • @deradth
I can understand Kashmir but put Arunachal as Indian because India literally controls it
  • @jotarokujo9164
As an Uzbek, we can tell you that China is the most notorious expansionist on earth. Given the scope of wars and invasions they committed in 2,000 years, a century of humiliation seems to be too little.
  • I will never understand using what criteria these people classify disputed regions on their maps, if you show kashmir and Arunachal pradesh as disputed areas. Why don't you also show Taiwan as disputed? It's always better to use maps that show borders as the end of a country's physical jurisdiction. That would be a truly neutral map.
  • @MrMegaGeoff
Other channels "In 19.. China wanted to control their water source so they conquered Tibet." TLDR : "Trough a strange twist of politics..."
  • The sad thing is, imagine how much more powerful India and China would be if they cooperated on literally anything
  • @nirui.o
"Due to a odd twist in politics, China controls most of the water in Asia"... do TLDR have data to back it up? I mean the "due to politics" part.
  • @Kamehaiku
In high school early 2000s. I wondered about fresh water disputes. 20 years later, here we are.
  • @Sasuke-04
Arunachal Pradesh is an indian state and there is no need to mark it as disputed + around 70%of Brahmaputra's water discharge comes from northeast india.
  • @DvynRv6hn
Independent Tibet is the only solution
  • Excellent channel! One of the key factors to consider is the very positive India - Tibet relationship. In the event of a military conflict, I can't imagine native Tibetans aiding the PLA soldiers in any capacity.
  • a serious warning to you......u can show a part of the ladakh region under occupation of china under china map, but why are u showing arunachal pradesh which is a state of india in chinese map..
  • @tsya
tajikistan got switched with Kyrgyzstan on the map
  • imagine getting the news that your country could go on war from a foreign media, i was terrified of the thumbnail
  • @winj3r
Being dependent for water on the good will of a authoritarian dictatorship is not an easy position to be in.

did you even read the hydrological survey report? or your take this information from reddit if a river starts from China, it doesn't mean all water is coming from China a river flow is contorted by small steam coming from mountain and merge into a single river, only 20% of those water in those come from Chinese territory and mountain also ganga doesn't start from china
