That refrigerant sniffer sounds like a Galaga arcade game.

Dodge actually did one thing right. After the steering column comes out, that dash comes out in one piece. They put large electrical connectors on each side so you don’t have to play with a hundred small connectors. If you’ve never done one, you’ll love this one.

hey ray that sounds like the ATARI games back in the 80s😂😂

Hey Ray, have you recovered from removing all those screws from the crate Eric sent you? 😆 Have a great Sunday my friend👍

This is a prime example of 'one repair finding the next weak link'. Good chance that evap coil wasn't leaking/leaking enough to detect until after the other repairs happened.

That was a great diagnosis. Thanks for bringing us along for the ride.

What a great way to show the customer what you are seeing & saying when you have a video and handy - dandy tools to do a diagnosis. NOT that they would not trust you up front.
  • @talis84
It shows how much the customer trusts you, to bring the vehicle back three times "for the same issue" Most people would go to another tech by this point thinking that all the parts fail at the same time, and at the same rate. It's probable that each failure happened in sequence of repair.
  • Your troubleshooting is once again excellent and your rationale hard to disagree with, Good job!

TIP... in a pinch you can use a TV remote (IR type) to reveal the green AC die.. Awasome videos...thank you
  • I removed all what you described on my 02 Ram. Mine was a broken blend door. So I dismantled everything as described and replaced all the blend doors, the evaporator coil and the heater core. That was 9 years ago. At 183,000 miles, it has the original compressor, and other components. It’s only been charged once, when the work was done , at home in my driveway 👍👍👍
  • Reminds me of the time I was in automotive class in college. Instructors dad had a 05 cummins and we replaced the evaporator once leaked down swore we screwed up somewhere. I literally ripped that dash out in 45 minutes and proved to him it wasn’t leaking found the ac compressor shaft seal was leaking figured the leak just moved to the next weakest link

Customers trust you because you will not replace something unless it needs. It helps if you have good tools. I like this videos it shows us that it can take some time to find a refrigerant leak.
