I was out for a quick treasure hunt (metal detecting) when I came across a bunch of guys trying to free this big sailboat from the beach. There were boats all over smashed along the coast, they needed to recover this one before it reached the same fate. I didn't think they could do it but they pulled it off. Great determination.

Not sure what algorithm triggered this video but I was mesmerized…actually got goose bumps and teared up when she was finally floating true.

A lot of these boats ran aground because they are squatters and have very little idea where or how to anchor their boats. I sailed around here for years. I've lived near Kits beach for over 60 years and the squatters have made this area and False Creek a bit of a pig stye. Ask these guys if their heads ( toilets ) have holding tanks or if they just pump their raw sewage into to ocean where people are swimming.

Dayum, good for you guys! I love when people act selflessly. It’s what makes it all work. Good job on the filming and your understanding that mindless chatter adds nothing worthwhile to a story.

These guys never heard of a block-and-tackle? A winch, perhaps?
