Great video stay safe in the backcountry. Thanks for the nice product reviews, it always help us all.
  • Loved listening to your Spanish! I really enjoy all of your videos, and thank you for introducing us to small brands that are doing a great job. Now I want to try those chilaquiles in the backcountry!!! Keep up the amazing work! :)

I have the Parsec 0F and I got it for less than half price during a big sale. It’s great for winter but I sleep hot so I like a 40F bag for the 3 other seasons. It’s actually lighter than my summer bag lol. And it’s SUPER comfortable.

Shug emery YouTuber turned me on to the Stansport “scissor style” stool. Really light inexpensive and simple. It rests perfectly over the top of my pack without strapping. Easy to take off for breaks along the trail. A few years back they were about $20. I bought three. Makes a good table surface too.

Ohh - I'm going to try the Mexican camping food next time I take the kids backpacking in Yosemite. Thanks for the heads up on this new meal!

Good review. Thermarest is part of MSR and they have great gear and great customer service.  I have a 3 season Western Mountaineering 900 fill down bag that's 7 years old and I love it. it's originally a 30 F. bag that's been factory overstuffed to 20 F. (WM's factory no longer offers this service.) :o( My winter bag is an out-of-production LL Bean -20 F. 750 fill down bag with down that has been treated with a good DWR to keep its loft even when damp. And it WORKS!. I'll NEVER buy another down garment without DWR treated down.

To elaborate on your point about sleeping bags and sleeping pads: the EN standard rested sleeping bags in conjunction with a r5 sleeping pad (iirc), which is higher than most people sleep with. A cheap CCF pad like an accordion knock off can add 2r to a three-season pad for those colder temps. Some fun info for people getting into cold weather camping.
  • There are very few YouTube channels that I could be considered a fan of -- but this is definitely one of them. Good stuff. And you recently convinced me to buy a Terraframe.....actually two of them. 😕😂😂😂
  • Enjoyed the “overly dramatic montage” of the Chilaquiles. 😊
  • Well dammmnnn!!! Look at you Eric!! You definitely ramped up the advancement of film production on this one!! I love it!! This is THE MOST PROFESSIONAL VIDEO I'VE SEEN OF YOU!! And I LOVE the new intro!!! Soooo much better than the horrid noise track you had on before! And do I see a little hint of colour filter on your vid?? Nice! I also love all the products you have shown us today and as a gf of a Mexican American man, I really appreciate you sharing some fab Mexican cuisine! Love thermarest the brand and am impressed with the sleeping bag too!! Fab video Eric!! Keep it up!!

I have used the stansport folding stool on amazon for $19.98. Weighs 19 ozs Slips over pack and is so easy to pull out for breaks. I saw on Shugemery’s channel. I have two. He zip ties around pivot point for insurance. I copied that trick. Used for years. I weigh 210 & its proven its durability

Great review. I'm going to grab this bag for my first winter bag in Northern Ontario. I was torn between this and Polar Ranger. I have a vesper 32F quilt to go over it for crazy cold days . Can it fit around wide pads? Thanks.
  • Hi, Great video thanks! I've just got the Parsec 0° but find the straps don't fit around my 25' wide sleeping pad. Do you know if I they have wider straps or do you just have to squeeze your pad to fit the straps? Doing that looks like it will either damage the pad or bag or both!?

I’d like to see more international food by small companies, too. Thanks for the info on this brand.
  • A backpacking chair is a luxury item that shouldn’t be ignored. lm currently using a big agnes UL chair that was gifted to me and like it more than my Helinox.
