  • Forget all the critics who nit-picked this movie. It is just a movie that makes you think and feel. Trust me, it is simply 90 minutes of calm.

So it’s the people that are the ones needing fixing up? They are pretty hard to watch and the house is perfect!!

It took all my will to watch this to the end😕. I have renovated houses and their stupidness is off the charts.

the funny thing is that she loves the painting of the house and yet, she does not SEE that she owns the real house... That is amazing.
  • The only thing I would like to know? Is?? How do you go broke??? And still afford to do all this remodel??

“When men get to be a certain age they start assessing what they’ve done and what they haven’t... He’s afraid he’s not going to accomplish all he thought he would.” This was my favorite line the mother-in-law speaks in the movie. When the father tells the son that its not in what women say its what they don’t say- I thought that was also a deep piece of advice. I don’t think that the emotions were fully developed/expressed in the movie except through the parents. I enjoyed their acting. The remodeling mishap scenes, timeline, and feasibility to buy the materials for the remodel were not realistic. I did enjoy the underlying message of caring for the other and finally doing so properly when they were selfless.

How refreshing to watch a movie where the couple isn't yelling and rude to each other. Imagine if married people actually liked each other like these two do. They not only love each other, they like each other.

I can't lie, I couldn't stop laughing when the wrong chandelier dropped to the ground.
  • I enjoyed this movie and all of its ridiculousness. I started dating this guy who is really gentle and patient with me. It took me a minute to realize that in whatever we go through our feelings for one another are still the same and issues can be resolved without fights and all the toxicity i was used to. Great movie. Watched it while marking😊😊😊

A little more emotion would have made this movie good. Nobody going through this challenge remains this calm through any of it. The music was the best part of this movie

It's a freaking beautiful house that in the real world would sale in the snap of a finger. It doesn't need extensive work.
  • @intignia
i can't believe the Realtor said it was outdated, and all those contractors want to do cosmetic changes to the house. There's nothing wrong with that house; it's beautiful.
  • @JOLLYROGE007
Just got to admire how both of them stay so calm and easy going throughout this slow process of getting back to normal.
  • I can’t finish it. Blind materialistic people. If this represents a significant percentage of people, humanity is doomed 😢

Inspiring and feel good movie. Getting back what they may have lost in NY.
  • @randalllevy5307
That art gallery at the beginning of the movie is called The Nelson Atkins and it's in Kansas City, Missouri.

I honestly enjoyed the movie. People talk about how slow the movie is, but it's realistic. At least as far as the everyday life of marriage.
  • @elises2074
Loved this movie.... deep.....dug down to the couple realising what was the most important things in life.

Very slow and boring in the beginning -- good thing I was multi- tasking. had to skip towards the end to find out if it was worthwhile to continue. I agree with one of the earlier comment being the museum scene being he most entertaining.
