Here is why these 10 SUVs are rated so low. We want a car that’ll keep going and not have us stranded on the side of the highway in the middle of the night. It’s easy to think a brand-new car will solve automobile troubles, but this isn’t always the case. We dug into Consumer Reports’ latest reliability data, to provide you with the 10 least reliable new SUVs you may wanna avoid.
CR auto survey looked at 17 things that can go wrong with a car, from squeaky brakes to all-wheel-drive system failures. The researchers then examined at least two model years of data for each car along with CR’s rigorous test drive feedback. Some of these SUVs are not only unreliable, but they are also under-powered and over-priced.

  • The fact that a Range/Land Rover isn’t on this list takes away it’s credibility.
  • The fact that you included GV80 to this list, and not any model of the Range Rover vehicles, damages your credibility more than you can imagine.
  • I had my GV 80 with zero issues for two years. It just got killed by a drunk driver, and its top safety rating paid off. I walked out without a scratch, with both cars being write offs. As for value, it’s got all the features of far more expensive cars except for the option for those people who want a 500+hp engine. I have no idea how it can be on this list.
  • I own a GV80 had it for more than 1 month and just breached 2000 miles. So far so good. I guess time will tell, but the part about it being too expensive is entirely subjective. The features that it has vs it’s competitors-Mercedes GLE, BMW X5, and Audi Q7, make it a good value.
  • Strikes me that the most reliable vehicle is the tow truck 😂
  • This report is not complete without the Range Rover, Sport, Evoque, and Discovery.

The Genesis GV 80 is the most reliable car I've owned, not a single issue in two Years and 30,000 miles.

Feel like this is a click bait title to get people who disagree to comment and move the video up the algorithm…it worked on me. Our 2020 XC90 had been rock solid and I haven’t heard enough negative elsewhere to justify a top 10 avoid rating.
  • One if the smartest decisions I made was leasing a Land Rover…it was in the shop 12 times in the 36 months i leased it. It gave me the option of driving lots of other cars at the LR dealership. Jags, Other LR’s. What did I lease next? Infiniti FX 35. It was great…
  • 10,000 miles into my 2021 GV80. best car I've ever owned. zero issues. Turns a head every day and someone will ask you if it's a Bentley daily.
  • @jeffs6090
Half the time you spent on talking about the GV80 was about it's cost, which has nothing to do about the topic of this list. Proving you couldn't find much at all wrong with the car. But in regards to the cost, it's much cheaper than it's direct competition when similarly equipped.

We once had a rental car, and it was a Jeep renegade. There was lots of buzzing coming from the back axle at higher speeds(45-60 mph). The center consul also shook a lot and the overall build quality was absolutely horrible.
  • Well done. Keep it up. Update us more on this matters especially for more new upcoming cars. So customers can make a quick decision before buying. Good job
  • I owned a Yukon Denali years ago and it was my most reliable vehicle ever. I drove it to 180.000 miles before I had my first problem. And the problem was a very minor problem. The SUV never broke down on me. But that was the 2002 model Yukon Denali.
  • I definitely don't feel the GV80 is overpriced. It's surprising the issues with the Benz GLE and the fact that they still sell tons of them. Glad the new MDX didn't show up on this list.
  • My wife has owned a 2018 Tiguan SE and the only issue she ever had, was one of fuel injectors went dead at around 30k due to a faulty connection, and it was covered under the warranty. She traded it in, at 48k, for a 2022 Tiguan SE. Neither car has ever given us any major issues. My wife absolutely loves her Tiguan. I had a 2018 Tiguan SEL and the only issue I had, was that the previous owner failed to get the recall done for the sunroof drains, and it leaked in a carwash. The dealership I bought it at, wasn't a VW dealer, and they weren't aware of the recall. Took to the local VW dealership for the leak and they replaced the sunroof drains, carpeting, sound baffling, and padding. Zero issues, besides the leak, and I loved having it. Traded it at 65k, for a 2018 Atlas SE w/tech, and had that for 2 yrs. Traded it earlier this year for a 2023 Atlas SE w/tech and can't see myself driving anything else.
  • My 20201 Genesis GV80 Prestige 2.5T 300 HP RWD has been perfect. It is as near perfect as any car I have owned. There is so much quality built in that the $60K price tag is very reasonable. With 13,300 miles within 20 months ownership, I expect to have this car for a long time.
  • I owned a Yukon Denali years ago and it was my most reliable vehicle ever. I drove it to 180.000 miles before I had my first problem. The fact that a Range/Land Rover isn’t on this list takes away it’s credibility.
  • Hmm I dunno about this. We have a '21 Aviator and other than a rear view camera recall we haven't had any problems with our Aviator. Also they said they had the most comfortable seats of any SUV. No they don't, at least if you have the 30way massaging seats. The seat bottoms get really hard after a couple hours behind the wheel. If I got another one I would pass on the over-rated massaging seats in favor of a little more cushion on the butt...:)
