Voicemails left by Louise Turpin, the California mother whose 13 kids were rescued after allegedly being shackled and malnourished in the family home, have been released. Shocking new details of the children's horrific ordeal are emerging. They reportedly were given just one meal a day and were allowed to shower twice a year. Louise Turpin's brother, Billy, and sister, Teresa, tell Inside Edition they tried many times to speak with their nephews and nieces but were rebuffed. #InsideEdition

The fact the oldest “child” was 27 shows just how tortured and brainwashed they were.

The fact that a normal prison would have taken care of those children better is horrible.

The parents cared for the dogs more than the children

Maybe they should give the parents 1 meal a day and only let them shower twice a year in jail

Imagine being able to only shower twice a year and have a period twelve times a year.

it’s horrible when instead of saying the children had planned to run away as normal children would they planned to “escape”
  • @maisiemoo941
“The children were planing to escape, for more than two years.” That’s unbelievable.

I wonder why that mother had THIRTEEN kids if she didn’t bother take care of them like a real mother should. The dad too.

1 meal? Showers once every 6 months? That’s terrible.

2 YEARS HUH ESPECIALLY SINCE THEIR GIRLS IMAGINE HAVING YOUR PERIOD AND NOT BEING ABLE TO SHOWER I WOULD FEEL HELLA DIRTY 😭
  • @Kirome
People literally have kids just to neglect them.
  • @teji7723
They really did treat them like “things” how horrible.

The fathers hairstyle should be added to the list of charges.
  • @TartarusBoy
Even Dursley treated Harry Potter way better than this
  • Here’s the thing... All children deserve a parent But not all parents deserve children

The dad should get a job as a janitor at the prison. He doesn’t even need to buy a mop
  • How is it not possible to notice that they haven’t taken a shower or only had a meal once a day? Wouldn’t such abuse be immediately noticeable? Greasy hair, body odor, emaciated bodies, etc? Or were they fed specifically for those photo shoots? My god this is horrific. In a lot of abuse cases the parents were abused themselves, thinking that that’s normal... But the fact that their uncle is horrified, and the degree of the abuse, plus they were so strict, and that the dogs were well cared for, shows that no, this is just malice. Why. Why would anyone do this to their own flesh and blood?
