Where did the Earth’s oceans come from? For years, scientists suspected that they came from molecules delivered to Earth from distant stars by comets and asteroids, but an exciting discovery suggests that their true origins could be more exotic than anyone had ever imagined.

  • We actually found out that there was water far bellow our surface, because we found water molecules inside diamonds at a certain percentage. Not only did it show that there was water under our crust and mantel, but that there was also a separate ocean. Adding constructive indications that the 'hollow earth' theory may be true. Water bellow our surface that far down was only a theory until that point.

defining "snow line" in the video would be helpful.
  • @saviourojukwu893
Earth water in the mantle probably came from the sun when it had accretion disk

If Jupiter moved across the asteroid belt ... um ... how much water is there in moon rock by the way?
  • @anthonyalles1833
Could the water have come from Thea, the planetoid that hit the Earth to form the moon?

If this is the way Earth got most of its water it makes life on other planets ever more rare, You would have to have another solar system with a big gas giant that would push all the water inward but also another gas giant that would have to form at just the right size and time to pull the first giant back after it had sent the water inward

This episode makes me really convinced that scientists are the main authors in creating some of the most popular Disney themed movies.. Astonishing imaginations.. The theory's in this video are baffling.
  • Oxygen gas turning into ions by Earth's star's plasma ions (Hydrogen ions & Helium ions). = water vapor.
  • @jt677
Literally no one has a clue how we got here or why we are here 😅😅 just constant theories
  • @Astech81
Notice that the key word here that these scientists always say is, "We think..." There is no scientific evidence to back them up, just theories. This science community sure does have more 'faith' in their theories than all the religions in the world.
