  • Reuben, I have to say if I owned that beast , I think I would be using the 4 way most often. I cant get enough of watching that beast, just love it !! Some beautiful wood she produces 👌

That is a great video and validates how I ordered my 12/22. I am getting it at the end of the month with a tall 4 way and box wedge. I get tree service wood so I have stuff from them that is 12” to well over 30”. I figure anything over 20” goes box wedge anything under goes 4 way. To me the sweet spot of the 6 way is just to narrow to justify the cost.

I use my four way 90% of the time. 6 way is good for wood 12”- 16”, anything bigger or smaller I prefer the four.

Good video, I just subscribed. I am getting my 12-22 in November. I order the 4-way tall, the 7way box, and the pizza box wedge. I can’t wait. Picked up the STK 24 last week.

I primarily use the box wedge because I rarely have to wrestle any wood for re-splits. I capture all the waste and offer it up as free kindling when someone purchases firewood from me.
  • I keep my 4 way in the big splitter, and leave the 6 way on my processor. I do this because I sort the 6-14" logs for the processor and the bigger logs I'll cut and put through the 4 way. Working great this way for 15+years. Cool video

You made lifting those wedges look way too easy! I know how heavy that four way is! Nicely done!
  • When I had the 12-22 I used the 4 way religiously over the 6 way and 7way box.. I found it to be alot cleaner... mind you I did not have the space at the time to stock pile the different size logs we get.. which ranged from 3" to 24".. wish I could pick my logs but beggers can't be choosers.. now we try to run everything through the processor.. we still use the Axis from time to time for kindling and bagged Firewood
  • I have a splitter with a lift off 4 way wedge and we have a older used splitter we are hoping to get a fixed 6 way on so I'm hoping to be able to have both going at the same time to I hopefully get the best of both sides

Good comparison, between the 4 way and 6 way wedge looking at the results the 4 way produces better wood then the 6 way wedge,
  • 4 way looks like the way to go endless you have perfect wood. Tall 4 way and box wedge for them huge rounds be my choice of wedges.
  • Very good demo. Would you prefer a tall 4 way vs regular 4 way? Nice job full play & 👍
  • The way it’s look 6 way good size for 9” log for fireplace in town and city . Peoples look for long life and heat will like the 4 way hand down . Just my opinion on this site . 😊
  • Great comparo…seems like anything under 9” 4 way is good but anything bigger the 6 way is the way to go. I’m missing the 6 way on my 22-28 and I have had a feeling for a some time now why it’s the default wedge.
