Marine Security Guards serve as the eyes and ears of U.S. embassies and protect Americans in "every clime and place." The mission of the Marine Security Guards is to provide protection to mission personnel and prevent the compromise of national security information and equipment at designated diplomatic and consular facilities. Marine Security Guards will be prepared to execute plans for the protection of the mission and its personnel as directed by the chief of mission or principal officer through the regional security officer.

Grew up as a Diplomats daughter. I thank God every day for the Marines. Not only did they protect us, but they taught me how to defend myself, they taught me discipline, and how to break the rules 😂. Thank you all for your service, you'll never know how much you mean to us!
  • As a former MSG who served in Geneva, Switzerland and Santiago, Chile from 1984-1986 I am happy to see our hard work appreciated. Semper Fi!

I was stupid enough to turn down anything overseas. Was young wanted to be close to home. Big, stupid mistake. If you go into the military do what you can to go overseas. Its a great opportunity to learn language, the world, and just become more well rounded.

I am on "old timer" and served as a Security Forces Marine...the precursor to today's Marine Security Guard Forces. I served all over the world on Sea Duty aboard the USS Nimitz doing what today's MSG does ...it was great duty and I am glad the Corps is still on watch world wide, Semper Fi!

What music is used in the background, I recognise it from somewhere... Can't put my finger on it. Respect to all Marines, from the United Kingdom. We are forever an ally of the United States. Forever destined to support and defend each other.
  • It was my honor to be selected and serve as a MSG from 1981-83 in Tanzania, Portugal, Germany, and London. It was the greatest education in the world. I got to live in foreign countries and learn about their culture. I’d do it again. SEMPER FI.

I was on the program from '92 - '94. Helsinki, Finland and Managua, Nicaragua. Nicaragua was a Designated Country when I got there but they dropped it halfway through my time there. Also did a Sec State Visit in Mexico City and Ball support in El Salvador.
