Joel confesses to his brother, Tommy, his responsibility in preventing the Fireflies attempting to develop a cure for the Cordyceps fungus pandemic by saving Ellie from an operation that would have killed her. Four years later, Joel and Ellie have built a life in Jackson, Wyoming, though their relationship has become strained. While on patrol, Joel and Tommy rescue a stranger, Abby, from an Infected horde. They return to an outpost used as a temporary hideout by Abby's group, former Fireflies now part of the Washington Liberation Front (WLF), a militia group based in Seattle, Washington. The group attack Joel and Tommy; Abby seeks revenge against Joel for murdering her father, the Firefly surgeon who was to perform the operation on Ellie. Meanwhile, Ellie and her girlfriend, Dina, search for the brothers. Ellie enters the WLF outpost and witnesses Abby beat Joel to death. Abby spares Ellie and Tommy, who swear revenge.

    I'd love a prequel of Joel in the early days when the world was infected. Watching him dealing with the loss of Sara and becoming a savage just to make it in the new world.

    I love that you can totally understand both sides of the story, Abby’s Joel’s and Ellie’s. Abby wanted revenge for her father and Joel wanted to save Ellie. And then Ellie wanted to avenge Joel. Sparing her in the end shows you what a person Ellie truly is, she realized nothing will bring him back. Can’t wait for another game to come out.

    "If the lord gave me a chance to relive that moment, I would do it all over again" this line hits different when you realize every time you play the game again, you relive it, and you do it, all over again.

    when nora is running from ellie, she is actually trying to lead ellie to abby for help, because abby is in the basement at the same time as ellie is chasing nora. At 7:31:02 when nora says 'shit!" it's because she sees the door she took abby through is now locked, and now she doesn't have a plan

    jesus, nearly every ambush done here was accurate and effective and the stealth taking down the infected was amazing too. i sometimes get annoyed watching playthroughs but this one is amazing.
