A Japanese Game Developer working in Tokyo Japan. This is the programmer life in Japan. As a Japanese game programmer you'll see what it is like commuting to work in Tokyo and going to work at one of the largest Video Game Studios in Japan as well as working with other Japanese video game developers, software engineers, video game devs, game designers and even Japanese game directors for a major Japanese Video Game studio. We follow Masa, a 23 year old, Japanese programmer, throughout his workday and witness what he does during his Japanese working hours as a Japanese game programmer at the Bandai Namco Studios office in Tokyo. We'll even interact with directors from popular Japanese video game titles such as Tekken and CodeVein. Plus we'll get to see what a Japanese programmer from one of the large Video Game companies in Japan does after work with friends. This look inside a Japanese game dev's life is pretty unique and should provide some insight for those people who want to work in Japan as a game developer or game programmer. Also, this day in the life of a Japanese programmer will show you what it takes to be a Japanese programmer. As you would expect, most of the work day is spent programming and coding, but there are other unique aspects of the Japanese programmers life we are able to see in this video.

Paolo: So what is it like working here? Area 51 worker: How did you get in
  • *See a random dude* Paolo “hi, what do you do here?” Random dude: “Hi, I’m the prime minister of Japan”
  • Wow, Bandai is so kind to its workers. Even letting them have naps to rest their brains. I'm glad to see such healthy environments becoming more of a thing in Japan. I wonder how Masa is doing now 2 years later. It would be nice to see how some of these people are doing again.
  • 壁紙ゼータだし家にプレバン限定キットめっちゃあるしマジでガンダム好きな人だぁ こういう人がちゃんと中の人で開発してんの安心するな

  • @marianot9652
From time to time I return to watch this video, I even memorized Paolo's lines. It gives me a sense of innocent happiness —cannot describe it better— to watch a guy like Masa going to work in his quiet office, taking a nap, coding and then going back home to build his GUNDAM models.
  • @Gyatttt1443
7:03 so this is the director of Code Vein. Sir, i want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this incredible game. We are waiting for Code Vein 2. You're awesome!

I'm glad to see more and more modern companies adapting more relaxed working hours for their staff. Definitely good progress for people's well being and productivity😊
  • @eboknick8
the video that started my journey with this channel. I just wanted to say I appreciate your work Paolo!
  • @digits001
The way this guys whispers to the camera like a national geographic nature documentary cracks me up . "Here we have a wild Japanese game developer at his desk. One of his rivals has just entered his territory. Will he react with aggression? Let's watch!"
  • @milos5247
It's nice that he's respectful and whispering to prevent disrupting their work.
  • @lofioto
