  • Roy's voice is unmistakable when he sings. Angelic is a description I've seen in many places. It resonates so fine in all his songs. I became a fan long after the fact, but looking into the history of the group I think it was probably a welcome and much-needed pull to his feet for Roy when they asked him to join them. Five epic musicians slipping out of their egos at the door and just making fantastic music. His death came too soon for the world, only in his 50's, but he'll never be forgotten for what he gave us.

It's an in-joke that Roy Orbison sings the lonely part, given how many of his songs were about being lonely. Plus, they clearly had so much fun making this album. You can feel it.
  • @jamiem4941
This is one of my favorite super groups! Their voices worked so well together. It was so sad when Orbison passed away but I love their homage to his memory. Great request, and as always loved your reaction! Thanks Nick
  • @hippiemama52
You can't forget the drummer, Jim Keltner (Buster Sidebury), one of the most sought after session drummers ever.
  • George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynn. Phenomenal.
  • Amazing, the guys wrote this song during their recording session. It was inspired by a cardboard box in the studio marked "handle with care", each member of the group contributed some part of the song. For more info on how the Wilburys were formed there is a documentary here on YouTube. Thanks for the lovely reaction and thanks to Lori for suggesting it.

Great reaction to what was a brilliant song from a supergroup who just loved music and had no egos thank you ❤
  • @dagmar.6954
Such a great song! Glad you are doing more from this awesome group. Lots of other songs such as "Heading For The Light", "Inside Out", "Tweeter & The Monkey Man", "Dirty World", "Last Night", "She's My Baby", "Rattled", "Nobody's Child", "Congratulations" etc.

What a group of talented guys. Roy was the first to die.

I grew up in London in the 60s and when I look at these incredible artists and others they are like men to today's boys. They were mature in those days whereas now everyone seems like petulant talentless children. I don't feel at home in today's society and everyone else of my generation says the same so I'm working on a Time Machine and I invite anyone to join me heading back to those times.

Thanks, Nick! probably their first "hit"... everything they did was amazing.. songs featured various "lead singers" but everyone was generous.. just enjoyed each other's talents.. also, give it up for drummer Jim Keltner.. who was offered a credit, but declined.. enjoy your reaction!
  • @teddtarr
Glad they included an acoustic 12-string guitar. -- it really adds a lot to the overall sound. Not sure which member was playing it.
  • @spacefanatic
Another great one of theirs is 'End of the Line'. Roy appeared on the song but passed away before they did the video so his guitar was on the rocking chair and there was a picture of him on the side.
  • The first time I heard a TW song on the radio back in the day, I didn't know the band had formed, but I couldn't mistake George's guitar & my ears pricked up... what🤔 then His voice.. THEN I recognised their voices one by one, i was instantly a fan❤😎
  • @threekidzmom04
I love George Harrison's music! Such beautiful talent!
  • @dole8001
Even Elvis said Roy had the best voice
  • @user-tz3nc6bs3t
Love this along with “End of the Line” which you did, such sadness three gone out of the super five…

Roy Orbison and all his siblings had poor eyesight. He had to use thick corrective lenses from a very early age, and was self-conscious about his appearance.Roy Orbison wore sunglasses due to photophobia, an extreme sensitivity to light likely related to a medical condition. After leaving his thick eyeglasses on an airplane in 1963, while on tour with the Beatles, Orbison was forced to wear his prescription Wayfarer sunglasses on stage and found that he preferred them. The sunglasses led some people to assume he was blind.
