I still can't believe they didn't spend more time into this game or its sequel. It has so much potential and the fact it's one of few actual FREE to play games with the right monetization is a cherry on top it all.
  • @lisa.66
If you breed 2 legendary or rare dwellers (like the dwellers you get from lunchboxes or out on quests), they will give birth to 'super babies' with higher stats than average.
  • @TedNipples
The rooms that lose power first are the rooms that are furthest away from the power generators. If you have reached the very bottom of your vault and are looking to create your final "Perfect" vault, then consider putting your power generation rooms right in the middle. Then, at the top your put your dorm sleeping quarters, and at the bottom you put your storage rooms. When you lose power, for whatever reason, your sleeping quarters and storage rooms will lose power first, which is no big deal because they don't really need power all that much. You cannot breed a dweller if the lights are out in the sleeping quarters, but that is really the only downside.

I fully agree with not leaving guards at the door. Most of the time they are pointless and it is better to use them as workers. Also you can just give the dwellers who are working guns, so they can defend themselves anyway

33:05 it's critical to note that the Endurance bonuses from outfits does count towards health on levelling, even when the hidden total is above 10. It's even worth swapping a dweller to the highest Endurance outfit you have just before you levelling them up. Sub-level-50 dwellers should be given the highest Endurance outfits before being sent out to the Wasteland or on Quests to benefit from this.

This is such an informative video; clearly, a lot of time and effort went into it. Thank you for this video; I learned a lot and also subscribed.

8:53 I remember when I remodeled my maxed vault I put the radio station in the first layer with "Butch" (my first Legendary dweller) and only ladies, they had the strongest weapons and all wore PJs. My headcannon is that they all got buff as hell and had a podcast called "babes with guns".
  • This is a very accurate tip section. After building about 3 different maxed out vaults (for the first 2 years it was released...) I'll give my tips for some worry free game play for maxed vaults: 1. Always leave training rooms at level 1. Radscorpions will wipe a level 3 training room with level 1 characters in nothing flat. Don't torture yourself. 2. Dragon's maw is the most powerful weapon but vengeance is better for the wasteland random encounters and quests. 3. Do not go by the post on the steam forum site (the "full" guide) for wasteland outfits and stats. This guide states that in a normal vault maxing ECL or ECAL with SPIA low yields the highest amount of legendary junk. This is simply not accurate. Theoretically, low ECAL and low SPIA should stop dwellers from picking up garbage weapons / junk / outfits and they will stay out longer and get higher quality items. I have tested this countless times and it is simply not accurate. The +6 luck gear on a maxed ECAL dweller with level 1 SPIA barely yields any more legendary junk if at all and they are prone to radiation damage with maxed E and no +1 E gear. Furthermore, the trip time is rarely extended and is completely random as to how much normal / blue stuff they will find. Do yourself a big favor.... max their stats... give them a vengeance (dragon's maw if you will not be doing side quests) and an outfit with at least 1 E. The main reason is that there was and still is a bug in the game where your dweller will not use radaway without at least +1 E ( and +10 E stats). Furthermore, a max stat dweller with any gear that has luck/perception/endurance will pick up items on quests that are of higher quality meaning those side quests yield better results and they spend less time in the waste land with better results before they hit 100 items. 4. +7 endurance gear is literally 50 more health than +5 endurance gear when leveling a +10 E stat dweller.... don't sweat trying to get it on every character... it's not worth it. 5. Radscorpions not deathclaws are the worst enemy. Power/radaway/stimpacks are the key to dealing with them. Make storage for rads/stims and keep your power consumption bar as far left as possible. 6. Deathclaws are no different than raiders they just do more damage. The simple way to kill them off. Make your first floor are level 1 rooms with an elevator that goes nowhere at the end ( i.e DOOR/LEVEL 1 2 WIDE/LEVEL 1 3 WIDE/ELEVATOR (that doesn't connect to next floor). Make sure the rooms are full and give the dwellers at least plasma rifles (not rusty) with a 2 AoE weapons tossed in and there health is at least +10 with and leveled with at least a +3 endurance outift. They will probably die by the end of the first floor but if they don't... they will go BACK to the first room where they will surely die. Even +17 dwellers in a level 3 room will take a lot of damage so make sure you have enough stimpacks to cover them ( 10 at least 20 to be safe ) and don't worry about it any longer. The only thing that matters in vault defense are weapon damage, room level and dweller level and dweller health.

This is the ultimate complete guide to Fallout Shelter. Clear explanation and very detail. Good job man, you are awesome!!
  • @davidduncan9993
For the "kill creature unharmed" you only need one person in the room unharmed to get the quest update so a room of 6 with 5 well armed Dwellers is best.
  • @Laireso
Very good points. Even I, a veteran, learnt new things such as skipping quests to refresh their rewards and that you can limit attack type by lowering amount of dwellers in the vault. Or that intelligence impacts how quickly a dweller levels up. Not hugely impacful as lvling up the stat itself takes more time than just repeatedly sending them into the wasteland, but I assume there is some goldilock zone where you gain just enough intelligence to fully level up before the dweller has to come back for more stimpacks with let's say 17-18 damage weapon which happens to me quite often and I have to send them out twice usually. Maybe this will help, although high intelligence will make them worse at gathering legendary junk later on according to some guides and testers. Still useful to know Out of the whole thing I have just one complaint and that is at 21:25 - when you go to sleep or to school or to work and you know you will be offline for +8 hours and you have only 2-4 hours left on the training, it's more value to use those 1-2 Quantum bottles now and while you are away they spend the time training the next level so technically you gain more out of them and this is how I use all of my Quantum if not for skipping travel timers to and from quests.

The video I never thought I needed. Love how you were able to include tips for newbies and advance players. Had to discover most of these on my own while playing! Glad I stumbled upon this long but very informative video. Looking forward for more to come! 🥰

Another tip and I’m not checking if anyone has mentioned lol; is after completing an Overseer quest use excess stimpaks and/or radaways to heal the dweller completely because if, like me you have they being produced they’ll just go to waste when you get back so might as well use at most 6 stimpaks and 3 radaways to have them back at full health - then you can send them back out on another quest literally straight away.
  • @Cron0s91
This is extremely detailed and well explained! Good work!
  • I already know quite a bit about this game but I’m beyond grateful that you uploaded a video on Fallout Shelter! Seriously, no one does anymore so seeing this pop up on my recommended was a nice surprise :)
  • @Drumfreak127
Great video! Another fun fact I’ve found is that Scribe Rothchild and Colonel Autumn refuse to work together in any room, which I assume is because one is BoS and one is Enclave. I’ve been taking them on missions with no issues, but they absolutely will not stay together in the same room. No other dwellers interact that way, but I wonder if any other named-characters interact like that! Pretty cool little Easter egg.
