I have a warning for anyone hunting Shiny Litwick: BRING A TATSUGIRI. Here's what you do. Turn 1 use Taunt, this prevents Litwick from using Memento and KOing itself. (This happened to me.) Turn 2 Use Soak, this will turn it into a water type so that you can- Switch to Breloom and use False Swipe. Finally, use Spore to put the Litwick to sleep. Then it's just a matter of Pokeball choice. Follow this mini-guide to avoid the pain I suffered of a shiny Litwick self-destructing.

Slugma and Litwick were my first shiny hunts in Kitakami. Plus, I just loved hunting them at the Crystal Pool. I can go all around the area while listening to the beautiful music. Perfect for a blissful and relaxing shiny hunt.

When trying to evolve white striped basculin at the pool area on the mountain against the fire types during rain I saw a grey looking slugma and since it was the first one I saw I thought it was probably just a cooled off slugma because of the rain or some kind of unique animation but I remembered the shiny variant of slugma was silver/grey so I decided to get into battle with it and when I saw it sparkle I was overjoyed. That is my first ever WILD shiny although I do have shiny charm but still it was a lucky find. I was kind of sad to know that it wasn't a special animation as I would've liked to see more expression from pokemon depending on the weather but sadly not. If you are wondering why I thought it was a special animation is because the sandygast in base game during rain get washed away and floating pokemon in the wind get blown away so I would've liked more animations like that but it's still a very fun dlc despite it's slight lack of content.
