R.I.P. to Legendary jazz musician Ahmad Jamal passed who away yesterday. This classic hip hop song wouldn’t be possible without the sample of Ahmad Jamal’s “I Love Music”

This song saved my life, literally. Back in the 90's, me and the homeboys was on the wrong side of the tracks and we ended up on that gang life shit. We got caught slippin, while I was on my Acura with my lil homie and the rest were on another car who end up getting shot from the opps on Central/60th intersection down in Florence South Central LA. I had this song playing on the stereo and at the same moment Nas was paying homage to Ill Will and all his dead friends from Queens on his second verse, they started to shoot em up. Thanks to God we all survived, and that verse from Nas changed my vision of life, so I ended up doing a 180 turn and went to college.

It still amazes me how a 20 year old's debut album is easily the best album of all time. Nas is one of the best

It's not just his insight, cadence and lyrical ability, it's the uniqueness of his voice. Till this day, there's no one who sonically sounds like Nas.

No bars wasted, my favorite beat, probably my favorite song of all time.. as a person who used to hate rap Nas was probably one of the few who actually got me rapping. This song is a massive inspiration to my mentality. GOAT
