I love how her whole demeanor changed when she saw her son. That's love.❤

Now, the industry is so different. Lucy was not only an actress, she was the head of her own film studio after Dezi left it to her. She was "The Boss". She didn't stop being The Boss when she came to Johnny's show. She knew the industry better than anyone. She was intelligent, funny, kind, and tough as nails. She had to be.

Boy, Johnny could take a punch! He never shut down even when he was being repeatedly backhanded. He was a class act.
  • The genius of Johnny Carson is that he let his guests take center stage. It wasn't about him, the focus was on the person sitting in that seat. He handled her quips gracefully, and kept the conversation flowing. He was, and remains, the undisputed master of late night. Lucy's banter with him seems based on years of friendship between two comedians. But we're also looking at an aging Lucy - less filters, blunt answers. Still, she is a beloved legend, as is Johnny. Forever in our hearts! ❤
  • I just realized as I’m watching this clip that I’m smiling and thinking how great it is to have grown up in the 60s and 70s. For I few moments I didn’t think about COVID 19. Thank you for the break from all my worry .

She revealed much in one interview. Desi Jr looks SO much like his dad. I do miss this format and Ms Ball was a legend.

It's 2022 and what Lucille Ball said back in the 70s still applies today.
  • Wow he looks just like his dad. ❤ she looks so happy when she saw him

Lucy is gone but not forgotten. She still has her reruns, still running for like 66 years. No other shows have done that.

Nothing makes a mother any happier than seeing her children!!!

Love when she was talking about exploitation in show business: "They'd rather work than be an unemployed actor. I'd rather be an unemployed gas employee" so smart and classy. Rarity nowadays.

Notice how Johnny let's people talk. Something modern day talk show host could learn from

I love her dual personality she can flip from serious and blunt to witty and sarcastic it shows a strong women who’s taking no crap it also shows a women who may have been scared to fall out of the spotlight and recognition. I also respect her opinion on girls being taken advantage off purely for the status of “showbizz”
  • There's nobody that can hold a candle to Johnny Carson he was the epitome of a talk show host there will be nobody like Johnny Carson ever he was so funny in a natural way
  • @payvibaby
I loved watching such a natural mother-son interaction live on late night tv.

Lucille Ball was an incredibly smart and savvy Lady in a male dominated business. She literally carved out a place for herself and made a stunning impact on US showbiz.

Why I Love Lucy...that incredible genuine laugh. She acts all tough then the child comes out and she claps and laughs like a 5 year old. I do love Lucy.💜💜💜

Her entire attitude changed when her son came in. He’s the favorite 🤣
  • I felt like I was listening to one of my Aunts talking to me..the Wisdom and Sincerity of her words is powerful.
