I think pure black and white art actually looks very good in manga. Gives it a nice texture!

A simple tip is to create charts to study creating different shades. I try to do 10 of them from white to black.

Your seriously underrated i hope more people find this gem of a channel!

By far the best video ive seen so far on value, that finally actually explained it with concrete examples, instead of just stating what they are and moving on without examples of how to actually apply it! Loved it! One bonus tip that helps me a lot when doing colour illustrations, is to also remove your saturation and hue, through a filter, to check if the values work for the chosen colours. One good rule of thumb i saw recommended is that you illustration also needs to work when you put it into greyscale. The simple trick of checking the values on your colour illustrations can really help identify problems.

In volume 30 of aot I honestly love how Isayama made the whole page black with the pannels. I wonder how he did that itā€™s looks extremely beautiful imo.

Thank you so much for the tips. I have been stuck for so long on how to shade properly. I tried different ways and all of it didn't turn out well. I didn't go to any art classes so it's hard for me to master stuffs. šŸ˜¢

I would really love to learn more about techniques for me to be able being a mangaka artist someday āœšŸ»

I have a question... When should we use this technique? I use hatching and cross hatching a lot but after reading some mangas, I realized a lot of mangakas used this technique + hatching.
