Steam Engines are the most powerful way to generate stress units in Create Mod! A lot of plays find themselves confused by them though so in this guide video I go over a tutorial on how to build them as well as how they work, how to read their boiler status, all the juicy numbers information you need, and even some addons that will help you out!

Imagine how the world would look today if the industrial revolution happened during the height of the Roman empire. It only took a 120ish years to go from an agrarian society to a space-faring society. Where would we be after a couple thousand?
  • @legdig
Newcomen steam engines were actually fairly commonplace for draining mines of water to allow crews to reach deeper ore deposits, They were so critical that if they had not been invented the industrial revolution may have never even begun.

12:47 You absolutely can have it place directly onto the depot that fills the bucket with lava. I always do that with my steam engines. The trick is to use 2 buckets, choose the blaze burners for depositing to before you select the depot under the spout, and set the mechanical arm to "prefer first". The second bucket prevents the depot under the spout from being empty unless the mechanical arm has already picked up the bucket from the lower depot. Since the top depot will already have something, the mechanical arm won't pick the bucket up from the lower depot unless there's a blaze burner to fuel, and prefer first ensures the mechanical arm will prioritize the blaze burner, preventing it from picking up the bucket from the lower depot, the bucket from the upper depot moving to the lower depot, then the arm seeing the upper depot is empty and putting its bucket back on the upper depot. The end result is the arm will only pick up a lava bucket to fuel a blaze burner, then afterwards placing the empty bucket on the upper depot. On top of that, instead of spending brass and an electron tube on a second depot, you instead spend 3 iron, saving the more valuable brass.

Immediately made this, and it dwarfed all the SU sources my server has ever had combined. Thanks for the inspiration!
  • @fordalels
finally! i love steam engines so much, but i often forget specific breakpoints (resources for a level 9 specifically), this is gonna help a lot!
  • @skelenby
    Actually relevant sponsorship jumpscare
  • @6tobi6hana6
Good that addons exist that make lvl 18 steam engine super easy to make. I LOVE CRAFTS AND ADDITIONS the straw is just op
  • @Freedbot
Good job going back and tying up loose ends man. That was very clear and concise.
  • @Jimmdk
I started watching your channel recently and I absolutely enjoy every single one of your videos!

side note: the blaze burner with straw also accepts flammable liquids from other mods such as immersive engineering ethanol, seed oil, and biodiesel AND u can make immersive seed oil in basins by pressing them AND immersive biodiesel actually superheats them and if u want u can drain the ie jerrycans with fluid drains

Great video. I just finished upgrading my create mod stuff to 1.19.2 with the most recent create release after playing in 1.18.2 for several months, just so I can use the Enchantment Add On. I'll have to make these changes to my steam engines so they can run better.
  • This is perfect timing was going through your old videos on this since I can finally place create and this came out today as I’m about to try
  • Definitely the new go to guide for Create mod steam engines and I loved the facts at the end!
  • @tiki2032
That’s funny your sponsor is actually my school. And I’m going for computer engineering.
  • love using the lava, i used a pointed dripstone farm for a while, to fill up my own main lava source, while also making manual trips back and forth, because i decided i was going to look into trains after my lava farm was setup. but anyways i now have a nice big old infinite lava pool with 2 extractors using lava. running 5 level 9 generators and that, is quite overkill for a while
  • @cloudd.363
4:25 also you can place lava under the boiler tank which will produce passive status as well.
  • @fanzaii
i really enjoyed the steam engine facts, thanks
