I like how Predator is basically a 80s slasher movie but instead of topless sorority girls, it's topless muscley men. Dutch is a Final Girl, you can't tell me otherwise.

Looking back, what I love most about these Schwarzenegger classics is that he's always supposed to be this all-American, red white and blue dude with the generic American sounding name, and yet...for some reason that's never explained, he just happens to have a very thick Austrian accent.

I'm surprised James didn't mention the marketing of the movie. From what my mom told me, the movie was marketed as an action-packed war movie, which surprised many people in theaters when the predator is finally revealed. That's why they have that fake-out scenes in the beginning.

Something you might’ve missed is that when Arnold asks the pred “what the hell are you” the predator actually responds asking him the same, pretty cool

I think the guerrilla massacre scene was supposed to show how each character was an unkillable badass, and how easily they were then taken out by the predator shows how terrifying the predator is

Fun fact: Predator's voice was performed by Peter Cullen, who also voiced Optimus Prime.

I think the gunfight scene was there for 2 reasons: to trick the audience into thinking it’s another commando type movie, and to establish just how deadly the team is, so when you see how easily the predator kills them, it raises the stakes for the final fight

The Predator rhetorically repeating Dutch's question, "What the Hell are you?" was pretty much the climax of the movie, as they both understand each-other, and it got no mention. Lol.

Jean Claude leaving was honestly the best thing for this movie. They ended up changing the Predators look to what it is in the movie. I also honestly believe Peter Hall being the Predator was the final puzzle piece in making this movie a masterpiece.

16:05 The Pred isn't smashed by a different trap. He's smashed by the counterweight of the same trap he just discovered and avoided. The suspended log, if triggered as intended, will drop and act as the force required to pull Pred up into the disguised spikes. This will never get read but I don't care. I love this movie. Can't wait for the Prey Kill Count!
