Bride Kidnapping Is A Disturbing Trend

I am absolutely disgusted and horrified by all of this. These kinds of practices are... Inhumane. Those poor women and girls. The fact the older women don't want to break this cycle... They've become brainwashed to it. Or are vindictive and want others to suffer as well. I can't be sure.

Man this is just disgusting. The fact that you can get kidnapped for marriage is just wrong.

I've seen this footage before, and the poor girl's struggle to get away from the men who've kidnapped her is nothing short of heartbreaking... especially seeing her acquiese after being "convinced" by the women of her new husband's family. Whats even MORE disturbing than the sheet, is that sixteen is supposedly older end of the target age for the men to kidnap a girl... but they do it to younger girls. Ugh. Chilling to the nth degree! I know that different cultures have different traditions, but if you have to resort to kidnapping girls to marry you because you can't find one that likes you enough to be with you... Maybe you're the problem and this really doesn't help how you're viewed. Some old traditions really do need to be left in the past. This whole thing is degrading, deplorable, and insulting to the girl and her family. The even more sickening part is that he probably stalked her to know when and where she'd be for this and that her parents would reluctantly allow this to happen.

I love how you used a shot from one of the final scenes of "Kidnapping - Caucasian Style" from 1967. It is a great movie and Leonid Gaidai is a great director. Doesn't change the fact that forcing a person go get married to someone, no matter if by kidnapping or any other kind of force is totally disgusting. It is really insane that people do that to the brides.

My culture has something similar, arranged marriage is traditional, so if the parents dont agree that a couple should get married, its common for the groom to kidnap the bride.

At first I thought you're referring to the Eastern European "bride kidnapping" ritual, which is basically a just a friendly prank performed during the during the celebration party following the actual wedding: friends of the newlywed couple may take away the new bride (usually just hide her nearby, almost always with her complicity as it's a fun game for everyone) and ask the groom to "pay a ransom" for her return, which may be like a bottle of booze, a cake or some embarrassing act like having him strip-dance or "make out" with his best man in front of the guests.

I am Turkish and the scene at 7:02 I understood half of the sentences without subtitles and then it disturbed me more. Sometimes we don't care things because we cannot relate them not a litle bit. But once you relate even a little sometimes the words sometimes the visual it changes. Same reaseon why hitler never visited the concentration camps himself.
