This video took a fat minute to write and edit, so as a small channel, the support really means so much to me ❤.

A couple notes covering things I've seen come up in several comments:

    1) The FromSoft portion of the video begins at 12:50. Dark Souls III specifically at 17:15.

    2) I have revisited Bloodborne and am nearly done with my platinum run through.

    3) I have logged some serious hours into MGSV and love the game, although I am still under the impression it shipped with a significant amount of missing content.

Also PLEASE give me some feedback on what game you’d want to see covered in this essay style format. I’m currently thinking TLOUII?

Nearly beating an insane hard boss first try and then entering a downward spiral for hours or days is definitely one of the most rewarding and frustrating feature of ds3. Welcome brother to the club of nameless king beaters
  • @LSK2K
Played Dark Souls III back in 2019 and somehow it did help me overcome the hardships of that time.
  • @yovo7499
Bro got destroyed so hard by the Nameless King he simply had no choice but to "git gud"
  • @tkOzeki
I wish I could experience Dark Souls III for the first time again. Exploring Untended Graves for the first time is my favorite moment in video game history.

"I perfect dodge rolled behind him and stabbed him in the back, winning the fight... then I fought FUCKINF Gael"
  • I’m in full agreement. DS3 is by far my favorite game, and the journey I went on to complete it was incredibly altering for me on a personal level.
    Great video my dude.

It was after watching the video and really loving it that I realized it didn't have thousands upon thousands of views! Which was shocking.
Because you were great, the video you made was simply great.
Excellent writing, excellent pacing, rewarding arc in the story you told, amazing insight into gaming history.
But my favourite was the very clear and bold text sprawl towards the end.

You inspired :) you did it

Farming 30 Vertebra Shackle's is the true test of your metal

My man stuck with his stock Knight's sword. Now that's dedication.

Dark Souls III I believe is my favorite game of all time. That game is beyond amazing. I can replay that game over and over and over again.
  • @x12di
The feeling I get when playing this game (even in comparison to the rest of FromSoft's games) is indescribable! I have literally never experienced something like this in all my years of gaming! I love this game with all my heart! Keep up the great work!

Fights like your fight with the nameless king are where we got "git gud" from. It applies to many aspects of the souls games and it's pretty solid advice.
  • @Septem1991
Beginning with DS/DKS is the most unrepeatable experience.
  • @KarlRock
Epic video bro! Thank you. I’m yet to play Dark Souls 3. But I’m looking forward to it. I started the same way you did. Except I also skipped Elden Ring after it smashed me around for an hour. Now I’m back and loving Dark Souls 1. I’m starting from the beginning and I’m hooked.
  • @FloofusTheCat
You tell a compelling tale. I’ve struggled to explain what these games are like to people who don’t get it, and you hit on a lot of what goes through my head but I can’t quite nail down. Such a good video.

Never heard of you, but subbed.
  • @MrGhostNinja01
Not even gonna lie, this video brought a tear to eye with how introspective it made me feel. Dark souls is a series that will always be special for me, seeing that others can construe a message so similarly out of it is inspiring. Absolutely fantastic video man, excited to see more from you
  • @keatonhanson43
I am experiencing the same with Bloodborne. Any accomplishment I want, I have to put in the blood, sweat, and tears to obtain. Analyze the enemies I get stuck on an study their moves to find their patterns. With the lack of a shield or many ranged weapons, the only way forward is to be aggressive but not greedy. And most importantly, don’t be afraid to lose or fail. The gameplay is challenging yet also intoxicating, the story and lore are hidden yet also deep. This game is truly an awe inspiring experience.

First video i’ve seen of yours and I’m blown away that you’re not a larger content creator. As a long time souls fan, thank you deeply for making this video. Subbed 👍🏼
