My dash cracked in 2 locations and a big piece went missing. I always thought a "skin" over the original dash wouldn't look good. I was wrong. I got a DashSkin and installed it and if you don't know it is there, then you wouldn't know that there was ever a problem.

I checked my receipt and I did order an extra tube of silicone because of the big hole.

Such a calm video, without the glaring rock music, or hip-house music. 👍❤️
  • Nice relaxing narriation with subtle background music. Very nice, well done!!

I was super happy to see the rattle test drive. Thank you!

The dash cracks in the same spots on these vehicles. GMC should’ve really owned this issue.

I just replace both my rear window motors and now need to replace the front driver side switches as the mirror control and the driver window switch has gone out. Saw this and and was really surprised. My dash looks like a puzzle it's cracked so many places. Some like yours around the airbag. Talked to dealer about 2 years back, and they told me same as you mention...$1,000 bucks to replace. Now I have a fix, thanks. After this, will work on roof, rust and pitting on those trough's.

Look exactly like what I need for my 2011 Tahoe, great video. Thanks

Thank you for the background music, so many vids ads orchestrated for a 19 year old hip hop metalhead or something. Nice job on the vid and explanation. Getting ready to go out and do mine. For weights I made up a batch of 1 gal sandbags, live by the desert, sand is free. Your dash looked way better than mine, I also use gorilla tape, plus the big loose pieces I removed and used hardware cloth and epoxy to strengthen it.

I found the Valco tool SOOO helpful for this job. Worth the 25-30 bucks. And it gets almost all the product out of the tubes.

I used one of these. It's was ok for $75 but I definitely recommend lots of good silicone and pressure until it's thoroughly cured. Also, the fabric ones are cool if you go have them recovered in leather or suede.

Nice job, picked up a 13 Suburban LTZ and will give this a try 👍
  • I got a Dashskin for the wife's 07 Tahoe. It was so cracked you could lift large pieces up so I taped it all up before putting on the skin. Wow the thing looks brand new now.

I was wondering how happy you are with this today? Im dealing with the same issue in my Dodge Ram and with so many repair options this one appears to be the best. Love to hear your thoughts on this a year later.
  • My boi has the most soothing voice I've herd ever invest in that. Lol
  • I can see your an avalanche enthusiast like me, with your old avalanche parked by your new one in your video. Like you, ive got both body styles

We have a 2007 Tahoe. Similar issue. actually GM replaced it once in 2011 for free but it is doing the same thing again. My issue with this product is how it has a noticeable ridge on the edges by the vents. I will probably find another GM one and replace to keep the original look and make sure to use some more pads/double tape below to support it better. That is why it cracks
