I just came to the epiphany that gaming is simply too big for its britches. Too many shareholders that heard about how lucrative the industry is, jumping in and making demands without any idea of how to make a fun video game. The indie market is thriving because of its detachment from the more money hungry side of the industry. They just want to make good games.

Twisted metal, Sly cooper, Jack and Daxter, Tokyo jungle, Ape escape and (my favourite Sony franchise) LITTLEBIGPLANET are all collecting dust while they keep pushing the same IPs forward. When will they realize that ppl are starting to get bored?

There is no reason to trust sony. Everything they are involved in fails or is fuddled. FF7 remake is in shambles right now because of their 'enlightened intervention'. And now Stellar Blade. I fear for Silent Hills 2 remake.. they are already hooked deep in that cycle. Ooof.

It all started when Sony Computer Entertainment (the division of Sony in charge of the PlayStation brand) became Sony Interactive Entertainment. Their U.S. and Japan-based offices would be merged, and they are now headquartered in California. Then they started censoring games in around 2018, namely Japanese games with sexualized women. Then they released the pathetic PlayStation Classic mini console. From there, it continued to get worse and worse and worse and worse for PlayStation. And here we are today.

Ps5 doesn’t feel special because there are no new triple A IP’s that are specific to ps5. PS3 brought Last of us, Uncharted PS4 brought ghosts of Tsushima, spiderman, horizon, final fantasy 7 Ps5 has Stellar blade? It seems like they coasted on their titles instead of innovating this generation
