I came here to see some new info on the scramjet tech and now I'm just confused what the "sup northrop grumman" people are trying to do in the comments. Tractor beams? Fiat multipla?

While I don't like war, and hope this thing is never used in actual combat, scramjets are one of the coolest technologies out there, and I really hope I can work on one after graduating engineering school.

My question is how does the missile reach hypersonic speeds to begin with to start the engine? I would assume it would need to be launched by a very fast aircraft or it would need a booster stage to reach hypersonic speeds for the scramjet to run.

Yes, but can a B52 commander even ride a bomb with such tremendous speed? Riding the bomb at the end of the movie is how this movie ends. An unrideable bomb is a never-ending movie. Everyone walks out of the theatre eventually if the movie never ends. That's your audience. The audience is the most important people in the theatre.

We need a hypersonic capsule that could be launched from a hyper loop.

Use an extremely powerful jet flame ( one fuel tank, then one jet flame, have 2/3 parts.) maybe use metal that burns & makes the jet faster, iron/ carbon even.
