love everyones sharp wit (and style) lots of answer in this video, we are strong together against the bottle neck catch-22 vice grip thing
  • Oh, gosh. I was put on to Giblin and Doctorow by a learned friend; and, having seen the 'man behind the curtain', can't un-see that 'warty old toad, squatting over all that was good, to which we now pay complete obeisance'. Here's my path and suggestion: Stop feeding this beast entirely, or at least a little. Most of my getting around now is on two wheels, I canceled my Prime thing in '16 (the real person who called to confirm / change my mind couldn't get their head around someone walking away), I obtain supplies, things, bits and bobbins second-hand where I can, and from my local hardware store and shops; I've cut my energy consumption by more than a third, and strive to live more and more in the manner of the folks who built my little craftsman bungalow in 1927.
  • I haven't heard any mention of the architecture of our monetary system, the banking cartel, fractional reserve lending. As long as we use this sort of Ponsi scheme fiat money, all that any legislative policy reform can do is move the choke points around - likely from privately owned corporations into a bloated government - an isomorphic rearrangement of the same problem. The current structure of the world's central banks will inevitably lead to monopoly, no matter the institutions they service.

Important topic; appreciate the exploration of how “chokehold capitalism “ crushes the building of a creative economy. Thanks! T

Excellent discussion! Please give the audience a mic next time so we can hear the questions.

''The Rapey Trumpy Billionaire that owns it, reclassified them all as contractors and took away their health insurance.'' Is so Vince McMahon, I would believe him to do that! He's going through again and again allegations of SA, that are that likely to go all the way now, so WWE had to get rid of him ,few weeks ago. He perhaps took up the Dana White's model of UFC because none of them have health insurance and all are contractors. But the UFC and WWE became one late last year. Their Antitrust Lawsuit is over, got settled last month. Nothing will change in these exploits. Great talk!

Thanks so much for making me aware of this book and way of understanding.
  • A few months ago I bought a used copy of "Chokepoint Capitalism" online and was pleasantly surprised to find that it had been defaced by both Doctow and Giblin, possibly at this event.
  • For those interested in the extremely relevant issue of full abolition of intellectual property (IP) laws (see this comment thread):

  • The truth is with this recent economy Everyone needs more than there salary to be financially stable. The the best thing to do with your money is to Invest it rightly because money left for saving always end up used with no returns....
