I love this video, the honesty and education in this video is great. I thought I needed a lot of colors starting out, and now brought my colors down to about three. It saves a lot of money keeping colors low and simple.

Amazing video Steve. It's not often that you will get actual solid tips from a bait tips video. These were great tips and pointers although I didn't know the majority of them already the one that really was helpful for me was the statement you made about letting it fall on a slack line. That is definitely something that I needed a reminder on. I often catch myself out of position high sticking it because I'm afraid that I'm going to miss the bite going down if I let it fall on a slack line, but you're 100% right it kills the action and often times it will get kind of stuck or caught halfway instead of going down to where the fish are. I would consider myself a intermediate Jig Fisher, I really gained an incredible amount of confidence in them since last fall and since then I always have one tied on and I can say this honestly that I catch at least a couple bass on a jig every single time I go out. Just like you said you have to be around cover. Anyway again I appreciate the video and and your channel God bless have a good one and tight lines.

Question for you Steve. I mainly fish Lake of the Ozarks, where floating docks and cables are a fact of life. What would be your choice of line for fishing that type of cover? A tough mono? Fluoro? Braid? Braid with either mono or fluoro leader?
  • Another great video. Always wanted to learn the art of jig fishing. I think i got the correct equipment to fish them this season. Keep up the great work i'll be watching for more great tips. Tight Lines thanks
