At least one person is dead after a house explosion in Bel Air, officials said. Harford County Fire and EMS Association spokesman Jeffrey Sexton said they received a call for a gas leak at 6:42 a.m. Sunday in the 2300 block of Arthurs Woods Drive. Those calls were followed by reports of an explosion. Master Deputy State Fire Marshal Oliver Alkire said there was an odor of gas reported, Baltimore Gas and Electric was aware of the gas odor and contractors were at the scene at the time of the explosion to investigate. Officials said one of the workers and a neighbor were injured. The deceased victim's identity was not immediately released. Follow live updates on 11 News, the WBAL-TV app and WBALTV.com

    Guessing old infrastructure/ gas lines. Has there been pressure flucuations that would cause additional wear & tear on equipment, that homeowners would have no knowledge of???? Audit of gas supply company is required.
