wow! to translate into Human scale this (royal?) doll couple and their amazing garments, accessories, etc.- the preparation for 2 adult-sized equivalents would be very labour intensive! And the weight of their garments, gosh! I hope these doll-artists, and future ones, keep going for another 1000 years. Finding apprentices to learn the ‘trade’ must be challenging. I am Canadian and ignorant of Japanese culture, but when I watch videos like these and other national artisans, I get the impression Japan really appreciates and honours such talented men and women. This process is so amazing. the attention to detail and the precise way things are done is amazing. These dolls are exquisite. I have a few Japanese dolls that i have bought at thrift stores and i am always amazed by the quality and craftmanship in each doll. I do not own one of these dolls but i would love to. stunning.

The craftsmanship was a joy to watch, much respect, truly beautiful doll.

To accurately cut through so many layers of fabric at once, I'm sure the scissors and shears must be frequently sharpened and maintained to retain high cutting precision!!! 🤗

The process is so immaculate, you can't see the flaws, and the seams are neatly cut.

My whole respect to these awesome artisans and to the Japanese people for such lovely tradition. 🙏

感慨深く拝見しました。 お雛様がこんなにたくさんの工程を経て丁寧に作られていると知り、大変驚きました。これだけは機械やロボットができる仕事ではない。きめ細やかな日本人の伝統工芸の成せる技ですね。我が家も娘のために両親から贈られたお雛様を20数年毎年飾り続けています。今年、その娘がお嫁に行きます🎎
