🇮🇪❤ 🇿🇦 Irish fan here. We’re happy with how our team are playing at the moment but we’re under no illusions that SA are world champions. We’d love to just get past a bloody quarter final! These talking points are just media driven to sell some content. I was at the World Cup match between us in Paris, great atmosphere and two great teams. Looking forward to June.

If there was a league table looking back at the last 24 months, I suspect Ireland would be at the top of it. They are probably the most consistent team of the last two years. However the best team in the world are the world champions - SA. Roll on the Summer tests. I'm Irish btw.

hello from Ireland.....good chat boys, huge respect for you guys, wonderful players and loved watching you. Maybe we are not the best, maybe we are, but we are damn enjoying our rugby at the moment. If we can win two grand slams back to back it will be very big for us and the sport in Ireland.
  • @davidroseitg
I think these guys were very fair and balanced, they don't rule out that Ireland may be no 1, but they can't claim it until they smash SA in SA
  • @kiaoragin
The Boks are the best. We meet them in the summer to see if we can win the series. Even if we do win, the AB's have that QF win over us. Most Irish supporters are just enjoying watching the team play.
  • @nidgeot9968
There isn’t even anyone in the Irish media saying this (which is a surprise), it’s more the GB media. We know where we’re at and still chasing the best.
  • @corcaigh
As an Irish person, I've heard others say they think we're the best in the world at the moment but this is usually not Irish people saying this and I agree the standard in the 6 nations is not great this year. How can you say we are no 1 in the world when SA are officially no 1 in the world rankings and holding the Webb Ellis? Can't wait for the upcoming tests though, should be great games.
  • @jjjjjjo839
As an Irishman, I don't think ireland can consider themselves no. 1. If we have a good test series in South Africa, then maybe, but right now, South Africa has earned the right to the no. 1 spot.
  • @kevindevane6175
No one in Ireland said that (Ireland No.1) have to fact check you on that my friend, that question will be answered this summer. Content farming I think lads.
  • @iankavanagh9174
No one in Ireland is saying they are the world #1. Unfortunately they can’t stop other people spouting such nonsense.
  • @LeMerch
Ireland have been by far the most consistent team in world rugby for years. South Africa couldn’t beat them, New Zealand have lost a home series.. the World Cup loss by a held up try after one bad game is a blip. It’s wonderful to watch them play, it’s so easy on the eye.
  • @gavindoyle692
Can anyone explain to me why South Africa and Ireland are only playing two Tests this summer instead of the traditional three, like Ireland did against New Zealand in 2022? It is a real shame, as were it to stand at 1-1 after two matches, everyone would want to see a decider. Whatever Sam Warburton says, South Africa are World Champions, and for Ireland to legitimately be called the “best team in the world”, we would have to beat the Boks twice in their own back yard. Which would be highly unlikely. For now, we’re happy to simply be the best team in Europe, and were we to achieve back-to-back Grand Slams, that would be worth celebrating. Trust me, I watched enough dire Irish rugby in the ‘80s and ‘90s, to fully enjoy our current form. Living abroad in Mexico, this team gives us ex-pats a lot of joy, and a were it all to come up Milhouse on St. Patrick’s weekend, that’d be truly epic! ☘️
  • @shaunbentham7361
South Africa is setting the trend for the rest of the world, fortunately the Springboks are still evolving in their style of play. Excited for 2024/25 🎉😊
  • @hithere3035
Love to see these 4 on the sofa again analysing the Irish England game after the result. Just to see their opinions again.
  • Looking forward to the match up! As you guys say, between the lines, it's going to be compelling . Cheers!!
  • @user-bo8gh9ey6n
This is high quality analysis. The truth is that the Northern hemisphere (Ireland apart) is a bit of a mess right now.
  • @tcc8829
I was wondering why South African fans were getting so rattled on social media about Ireland recently but I think they are just reading too much English media
