  • What’s up, I’ve been airbrushing for 30 years and I saw one of these and I had to pick one up. When I first tried it, it was sputtering and spitting until I found the secret. The needle and nozzle it comes with is too thin to spray with. So I got a 0.5 needle and nozzle, after that it works like butter. BIG difference. It will never replace my Iwatas or my compressor but it’s good to do quick sketches and to take on the go. Good video by the way.👍🏽
  • This is a cool video. I’m a miniature painter. So it is really interesting to see what other people use airbrushes for, and the tolerances they expect to be normal for airbrush usage. It would NEVER have occurred to me to try and use one of these portable brushes to paint a pair of sneakers. I mean, come on! It’s running at about 18PSI max. But for painting minis, at close to midnight, when you’re able to grab two hours of hobby time, while everyone else is asleep.... these devices are so quiet, so unobtrusive that family might believe that you’re actually doing something productive - like a bit of banking or investing. Honestly, this gear is far from perfect, but it has it’s place. It’s weak, but quiet, so you can be super sneaky and get stuff done and no-one is the wiser.
  • This airbrush isn't designed to cover massive areas. It is built to be an affordable option for those that airbrush fingernails, mini's, and small items. Additionally they don't have the same size needle. There is a huge difference between an airbrush with a .5 needle which the badger has, and a .3 needle. Of course there will be less volume of painted sprayed when the needle is smaller. In this case you would be getting about 1/3 the volume, which I think is reflected in your testing.
  • I actually bought one of these to use on my very first pair of customs I finished last week! I've never used an airbrush before yet I could tell the airflow and adjustment weren't right - but I was still able to get my gradient done decently! This video has just encouraged me to consider going for the real thing tho...

I don't do anything with shoes, but I was gifted one of these and was trying to decide which projects to use this on. Thanks a MILLION for that comparison and showing how long it took on a shoe. I now know that I'm definitely NOT going to paint two dozen large ornaments with this thing, but it'll probably be fine for some miniature figures. I feel like you just saved me at least two days of time and headaches. Thanks! 🎉

I started with this cordless airbrush version. It was painful to work with it. The nozzle broke off (when I tried to switch it carfefully), after 5 weeks and the compressor died in week 7. It took ages to clean the airbrush. It took years to build up layers, no matter how thin the paint was. Imagine working with a clogged airbrush, because that is how it felt all the time. If you buy cheap, you will buy twice! My Harder & Steenbeck Evolution really showed me, what airbrushing should be like lol.

Woke up thinking on a portable compressor, I still think I like that little underpowered thing! I think it could work well connected to a micron. Great review man
  • Thank you for this bro. I was actually considering getting something like this I’m glad I went here first
  • @waco9208
Thanx bro u saved alot of artists with this video may God bless you
  • @kidsmac43
This really helped thanks! But can you use it while it is charging?
  • @rdalmasso7326
Usual customers: "Let's try it out on paper sheets on any kind first" Dillon: " well Let's try directly on sneakers " No fear for the kind of customs ahah
  • @LiLiJughead
I bought one of these cordless airbrushes and was underwhelmed by it. Im used to a regular badger airbrush so my first impression of the cordless one is a lack of airpower. I decided to see if it's just me or is it the product and your video convinced me it's the product. I'm going to return mine and stick with my badger.
  • something told me to go HAM on the the airbrush right from the start so i waited, saved, and apparently it paid off - my 1st airbrush was the "Iwata HP-C Plus" i love it ofc. i'll be snagging that 0.5 badger very soon tho so i can stop thinning paint.
  • @voin3858
Interesting video..thks. You can see the difference in the two guns spray pattern...maybe the cheap one has a number two needle .very small. where your pro one has a 3 0r 5 needle. something you didn't mention at all. can you even change the needle in the cheap gun ?
  • @sericono9077
Great review, thanks for sharing it. I love my Iwata working at 22 PSI though!
  • Im ab beginner with airbrushing and I have that exact same one I really don't have very many complaints except for the battery life. I personally feel that the battery doesn't last long enough when you're in the middle of a project you have to wait for it to fully charge in order to complete. Just off of doing one pair of Retro 13s it took me two days to finish both boat shoes
  • @dagoat009
Bro your vids and your replies has help me a lot 👌🏽 I appreciate every moment you upload a vid 🙏🏼 I have a question are posca pens good to use?
  • I think for new airbrush artists, it may deter them from airbrushing if thats the 1st one they use...im glad i jumped into the badger 105 right away like you suggested man. I think if i woulda got this one 1st, id probably stick to brushes tbh...as always, very helpful brother 🙏🙏
  • Have you tried changing the nozzle sizes? Maybe some basic troubleshooting will help a bit
