Incredible Round House And Abundant 1/4 Acre Food Forest

Publicado 2023-06-30
This round-house is something very special indeed. Completely DIY crafted and packed full of amazing design features, this is a small home to take note of! What makes this stunning home even better is that its surrounded by abundant permaculture food forest gardens and all of this has been accomplished on just a quarter acre section!

Tim and Carmen have built an incredible home here. Everything about this round house is designed to maximise the function of the home while minimising its impact on the surrounding environment and creating more space for their gardens. It's a masterclass in good building. And for such a compact footprint, it functions as an incredible home for this family of five.

We hope you enjoy the full tour of this incredible home and garden.

I have downsized and eliminated possessions but truly wish I had done this sooner in my life. To all of you young people, MAKE the change now! These people are inspiring 🙏💕

I really, really appreciate the inclusion of a non-traditional "tiny" home, where the principles and ethos are clearly there but while also showing alternative ways to live within that ethos!

Love seeing families with older kids in slightly bigger and still such unique homes. Keep them coming!
  • This is my most favorite home you have ever showcased on your channel! I love that it sets an amazing example of how a family of 5 can live on a 1/4 acre section. It's aesthetically stunning, homely and grounding plus the property shows the potential to feed a whole family on. I'm so blown away and I feel this sets such a great standard of where we should be moving towards as a species. And the comment around the commodification of houses is so apt, so many people live in grossly over inflated homes that people end up working their whole lives to pay off. The rooms all downstairs reflect a tribal way of living and must create such a secure feeling for the children. I wish to manifest a beautiful home and property like this one so I can raise my family in. Thank you so much ❤❤❤

What a stunning, beautiful home, and a wonderful family enjoying it and thriving in it, like the plants in their amazing gardens. And Bryce, thank you for, as always, not only finding these gems, but taking us along for the visits and asking all the right questions so we can understand and appreciate everything better.

What a stunning house - and I love their belief that a house should be a home, a shelter and not a commodity. I would have loved to have seen more of their garden though - maybe we could have an update tour someday that includes more of that?
  • Beyond words! The design, the execution, the philosophy represented in this amazing house is truly inspirational. What a special family!

"Commoditization of housing is wrong"... truer words were never said. Such a beautiful Home in every sense of the word Home. This family puts the kind of energy into our world we all need. Thank you.

I live in USA. I think this house is the best. Tell your kids they have the best house ever. It's an amazing place to grow up. The outside is also amazing. All of it is beautiful. Love the imagination that turned this house into a spectacular place. So wonderful. 🎆

Wow, wow, wow! One of the most beautiful homes I’ve seen. Who needs fancy mansions when you have something small but gorgeous like this? I’d live here in a heart beat! What a talented family to build this gorgeous dwelling!

I LOVE this house.. what an incredible achievement; Tim and Carmen have created an absolute gem. The layout, having the bedrooms downstairs and that amazing, open planned living space upstairs.. The materials used, the garden, the views..❤💯

Nine years ago I moved to 5 acres in the mountains to create a food forest. I wish it were so beautiful! I am at the eat all year stage, yay!

I love this phenomenal circular grounded design! Love your unique designs tours Bryce!

I agree with everyone in here who is stunned and has nothing but praise for this - EXCEPT for one thing, I would love to have a bit of privacy and there are no doors, not even to the children’s rooms. I think it’s important to be able to play the guitar and not disturbing the one in the next room at the same time - or just laugh or exchange and speak and cry or be intimate without everyone knowing it. But other than that, the whole house is gorgeous!!!!

As a family of 5, with a pending teen, I LOVE seeing this home. It was hard to envision my family being happy in some of the other smaller home designs. This is a cleverly organized space. Gorgeous while not being overly done.

I'm loving the diversity of the homes you 2 are touring these days. Just so many alternative housing ideas coming out of the original tiny house movement. As long as there are people there will be places for you guys to build the channel on. So proud to say I've been here for the majority of years you have been entertaining us. Such a beautiful couple.

Lovely house and family. "The commodification of houses is wrong" -- I agree with that sentiment!
  • @Uzone62
You said it all Bryce, an exceptional home and I agree about homes not being a commodity and putting love and care into them. This was by far, one of my favourite episodes. Tim and Carmen have built an incredibly beautiful living space and I'm envious of their gardens and good soil in NZ . We put so much into our soil here in West Oz and it just reverts back to sand each year

A big round of applause to Tim and Carmen for their accomplishment and thanks for letting us see the result of their efforts. I can't agree more with the idea that a house should not be a commodity where so much space and materials choices are devoted to living patterns that simply do not align with my own and seem almost soul-less. It is good, too, to see more toilet alternatives being shown in these videos of yours Bryce. I live in the drought-prone San Francisco Bay area that is in need of loads of affordable housing and am continually surprised that urban codes are not turning to requiring composting or incinerating rather than flush toilets. Thank you.
