The best part about that world cup quarterfinal match against England is that Lomu's opposite number for that game (14, Tony Underwood) had been talking all sorts of smack about how Lomu may have been impressive so far in the tournament but his run of good fortune was about to end. Underwood was humiliated in that game. If I was like 85kg or whatever Underwood weighs, and about to mark a guy 118kg, who is also quick as hell, strong as hell, and 6 inches taller... I'd probably have kept the pre-game smack talk to a minimum. I remember this match. I was 15. I woke up in the morning for school and asked my Dad what happened in the game overnight. "Lomu scored four tries!" I could hardly believe it. His legend was sealed. If only his health worries didn't derail his career. He scored 37 tries for NZ in 63 test matches.

As someone from England I can always remember the 1995 World Cup semi final between England and New Zealand. Obviously I wanted England to win but it was impossible not be in awe of Jonah Lomu in that match. He almost single handedly destroyed the England team in that match.

He was a head of his time, but the skill level wasn't as high as it is now, he would have still been a super star but not a god if he was born later, probably ma'a nonu level
