South Africa's Ramaphosa Appoints New Unity Cabinet

Published 2024-06-30
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa appointed a cabinet including members of opposition parties that agreed to join a ruling alliance after elections on May 29 failed to produce an outright winner. While Ramaphosa allocated the bulk of ministerial posts to members of his African National Congress, which won the most votes in the election, there were also six for the Democratic Alliance, which finished second, and two for the Inkatha Freedom Party, which came fifth. Ntando Thukwana reports on Bloomberg Television.

It is a historical moment for all of Africa and the economic commodities market will balloon if they do things right over the next ten years or more. The US and UK as well as South Korea and Japan should be looking to partner with them now more than ever considering Nvidia, Samsung, Apple, Microsoft, TSMC, etc rely on their minerals.
  • The fact that the ANC have given Agriculture to the leader of the DA is a clear signal that the ANC is NOT seriouly committed to the repossession of lands from the whytes without compensation since this is a matter that is STRONGLY opposed by the DA.
