Can You Beat ASSASSIN'S CREED 1 With Only The Hidden Blade?

Why engage in combat when you can 1-shot every single enemy that comes across your path?

Looking for that end-game explanation I mentioned? Here's the link : gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/935316-assassins-cree…

The Hidden Blade is the signature weapon of the Assassin's Creed series. Without AC, there would be no hidden blade. Without the hidden blade, there would be no AC.

And considering how deadly it is in the right circumstances, one has to ask : can it be deadly in EVERY circumstance? Even ones that it wasn't designed for?
I think it's about time we find out.

It's actually the most deadly weapon, even for counterattacks, but the time frame to counter attack is also the smallest.

Fun fact, using the hidden blade counter on the last boss is actually an exploit. Normally the game has a long drawn out cat and mouse game, where you have to find the right one out of a bunch of illusions around the courtyard. Funny that this challenges rules actually made the final boss easier!

Now on to the Ezio game's with all the Hidden Blade upgrades. AC2 has Duel Hidden Blade, Hidden Gun and Poison Blade, Brotherhood adds the Poison Dart launcher and Revelations gives The Hookblade for combat and getting around.

I loved AC1 and was always confused why most people didn’t like the Desmond story… Only in my 3rd or 4th playthrough I figured out that you can press a button during cutscenes when the screen flickers to see alternative perspectives. Had to play it one more time

Man, I miss when Assassin's Creed was like this and it felt like there was a way better and more interesting present day story underneath it all. I remember spending so many hours going through theory videos talking about all the symbols at the end and what they might mean.

You can do death from above, but need to lock on, position yourself and jump and do high profile assassinate directly on the target. It’s tricky to get the timing but once you do, you can use it for many of the bosses. Only in later games did they have auto-lock-on for it but it was always possible. I recently did a full stealth run (doesn’t count the ones that are impossible to stealth for story reasons) and the only one I messed up on was the executioner.

I remember going back to AC1 after playing through Black Flag and Rogue. And not having the death from above execution was so jarring. I constantly tried to use it but couldn't. My brain could never stop from it being my go to kill move
  • @Spiker985Studios
I've always felt this to be extremely possible. Considering that every combat interaction I ever got into, I baited the counter due to its one-hit counter nature
  • @DieSpielhoelle
This is a very interesting challenge. The real question is, how many of the other Creeds can you do this way? ;)
  • @velarswood
I used to get like 90 percent of all my kills with this weapon. I felt the normal combat was broken cuz it would be like 5 hits with the sword or I could use the blade for a instant kill counter

My theory is that the piece of eden that can control time is in fact the dagger of time from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Think about it; a gold metal dagger with supernatural abilities that dates back centuries even from before the timeline in the game, makes sense, right? And the vizier is the Templar Grand master. Seeing as Assassin’s Creed was born from Prince of Persia, the connection seems uncanny.
  • The unironic comparison you made between Saruman and Al Mualim is crazy. The thirst for power. corrupts him through the apple such as Saruman’s thirst for Power of The One Ring corrupted his mind as well. That’s something I just noticed as well

I really really enjoyed the humor in this video 😂 the NPC's quirks and first game's heavy focus on the stabby-stabby really made the comedy flow like a freshly severed artery. 🎉

Trivia: the Order of Assassins was devastated by the Mongols sixty years after the time the game takes place, with pretty much every one of their strongholds being captured or destroyed. Though a remnant survived, twenty years after the Mongol invasion was the last recorded victim of the Order.
  • @DarkenraGaming
This unlocked so many memories for me (the circling the circle during al mualims monologues, the annoying showing everything we've already practiced during the tutorial, and the amazing climing and leap of faiths). and IM JUST NOW GETTING TO IT. Thank you lemon :)
  • @Tenthadorn
I went through AC2 with the biggest hammer I could for this same kind of challenge after seeing some of your videos, and this is absolutely a wonderful series you should do :D
  • @Ch35h1r3C47
I actually did this myself back when the game first came out. I did the same thing with the knife as well. It was actually cool discovering that the hidden blade could be used to insta-kill counter enemies.
  • @Psistarstormer
Would love to see more of this series going forward, especially with how many gimmicks they pull out with the hidden blade over the course of the series.
  • @vlionheart
I really want to see how a hidden blade only run goes for the other games. Seeing challenges like this one is always fun.
  • @PiercingEditz
I know I'm late but I'll love to see you do this challenge with every Assassin's Creed game
