Your approach to sourdough reminds me that we women have been making bread this way for a long time, before scales and timers! There doesn’t need to be a lot of fuss and precision to get all the benefits of long fermented grains, or to make delcious food for our families. Thank you so much for sharing your down-to-earth, delicious ideas and methods. It’s so clear how much devotion you have for this homemaking work, and it always gives me a boost of inspiration!
  • It’s because of YOU I’m no longer scared of sourdough!! I use it all the time. No measuring, no scales, just eyeballing it like grandmas did ❤️❤️❤️

I was raised by someone like you who loved to feed her hungry, active family with nutritious and delicious food. I am so deeply grateful for my mom and all of the loving moms dads, grands, caretakers etc. that put time and energy into making good food for those they love.

when your starter is mature, it can be kept in da fridge. A jar can be stored in the fridge for months without needing to be fed. I only feed my starter, before I plan to bake. Like ill pull her out the fridge the night before and give her a feeding. She's good to go in the morning. I've fed her what ill need that next day, take what i need, put her back in the fridge until next time. No waist.

I use my 6” mini cast iron and make a bunch of mini pizza crusts. I get them all filled up with yummy toppings and then freeze them. We throw them in the air fryer for super easy dinner or lunches. Such an easy meal prep idea and my kids love prepping with me. They get exactly what toppings they want and there’s less arguing. Thanks for the inspiration 😊
  • This was such a helpful video. After watching you, I started my own starter and have kept it happy for quite awhile. Our grandchildren rave about the breads that I have made, and our youngest was recently quite disappointed to find that I was not making the cinnamon rolls for breakfast, while they were here visiting. I am 74 and living proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks! 😍❤️😍

I love these recipes because I'm a working mom with a 3YO starter, and I rarely have time to make actual sourdough recipes (breads, biscuits, etc) because I'm gone 50 hours a week. I love no-wait sourdough recipes!
  • I had a brainstorm to use my starter discards....rolled, thin dumplings for chicken and dumplings...OMG...the absolute best I've ever had!
  • Just found you. I love that you make it like a real person. You don't make it sound difficult you make it sound very approachable. I'm just starting to make a starter. So I'm a newbie to it.

I love the recipes I have tried! I am almost 70 with many autoimmune issues, and sourdough and milling my own grain has helped my GI issues so much. Plus, they are so good. Thank you from Lu Ann in southern NM!
  • it is so refreshing to see someone cook and feed a sourdough starter without using a scale!!! my grand mother never had a scale ol cookie on a cattle drive never had a scale.keep up the good work love your videos
  • @cindybos7939
Just finishing the pizza crust, it has about 5 minutes left before it goes to the table. Where has this been all my life, so simple, and you make it so easy!! Thanks Bunches!
  • I never had good sourdough starter until I watched your videos. I was measuring and trying too hard. Now I have no problems because I just stopped stressing and started going with the flow...thank you!
  • @terria9739
The way you feed your sourdough starter is amazing. My sourdough starter is over 7 years old and I have always used scales to weigh the water, flour and starter. I will definitely separate some of mine and try your method. I love all your recipes that I have tried! Thank you. You have a lovely family.
  • And here I am with my little tiny jar of sourdough starter :face-fuchsia-wide-eyes::text-green-game-over:
  • Lisa I actually made your sourdough crepes recipe for my family’s breakfast and we all loved it. My husband even said to me that these are the best crepes he’s ever eaten. I thank you so much for sharing your recipe. I am really enjoying experimenting with this wonderful sourdough starter that you’ve helped me learn to make. These are the simple pleasures in life that a lot of people are missing out on and certainly lost the basics from years ago. Keep up the great work!
  • my family is in a bit of a financial crisis and I am looking for ways to cut our grocery bill without buying junk....so I got a starter and am so happy to have your valuable info! thank you from a mom of 4 soon to be 5
