Kobe is so peaceful.  I think he realized that life is about self-actualization and enlightenment.

"I'm not gonna retire next year" "announces retirement at the start of next year"

What a great peace. I love Bill and grew up with Kobe showing me everything I love about basketball. Miss you every day bean. Probably gonna miss Gigi even more, I feel like she would have introduced a whole knew fan base to the WNBA

Kobe is a very well spoken individual. A lot of players today merely give politically correct answers such as "we gotta continue to get better...tonight wasn't about me, it was about my teammates, it was a group effort..." However, with Kobe you can sense that he's doing the questions justice and really giving his true insights and not merely regurgitating what he was told in handling the media. Moreover, his knowledge of other topics such as Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and him being deaf yet overcoming this setback is impressive. Kobe's IQ (not just basketball IQ), is such that if I didn't know any better, I would have thought he had graduated from college with honors. Other greats to share this unusually high intelligence include Magic, Jordan and Dr. J -- the latter whom I really developed a greater affection for after following his documentary which explored his upbringing and also losing his son.
