A conversation between Steven Chu, Nobel Prize in Physics 1997, and Professor of Physics and Molecular and Cellular Physiology at Stanford University, and Natalia Kanem, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund

This discussion was part of the first Nobel Prize Summit. The event brought together Nobel Prize laureates, scientists, policy makers, business leaders, and youth leaders to explore the question: What can be achieved in this decade to put the world on a path to a more sustainable, more prosperous future for all of humanity?

  • Touched a chorx again. Especially "...her personal autonomy.. how to now give her the power for her thoughts?... The way she conserves her fertility... and may drive her family.." heartfelt I did now. Motivated.
  • Birth control is a difficult objective in a world where egoism and promiscuity are emphasized. But, also, I think it is a general notion that romance is dead which promotes rash decisions on the part of men and women. If our young adults could become focused on endless romance and not the end of romance, perhaps population growth would be more controlled.
