I take a Metro-North train from Grand Central Terminal in NYC to Greenwich, CT for a pleasant day trip in one of the wealthiest towns in the country. Besides the rich residents and large homes, many hedge funds are located in Greenwich. After arriving, I walk up Greenwich Ave. to go to CFCF Coffee for breakfast. Then I check out the Bruce Museum, which is an institution that features exhibits dedicated to art and science. After that, I enjoy a great lunch at one of the best restaurants in the city, L'escale at the Delamar Hotel. Then I have an espresso from another location of CFCF Coffee and explore Greenwich Ave., which is lined with a number of fancy stores. Finally, I conclude my trip with a walk around the shore of Greenwich. I check out the harbor, some of the beautiful homes, and Bruce Park before I return to New York.

  • This is the America I envisioned as a kid, with prosperity and affluence. Truly a beautiful place.
  • I grew up in Greenwich. Graduated from Greenwich High School. I haven't been for 15 years. I miss it. I used to take the train from NYC to Greenwich and back. We used to camp on the island you mentioned that you need to take a ferry. These were my childhood memories. Thank you for bringing them back!

I’m offended when you call it a “NYC suburb”, sorry we don’t associate with anything New York. We are Connecticut

I was blessed to grow up in the Bruce Park area. I miss it every day!❤
  • I'm glad you went to Greenwich because you can really find a lot of luxurious places to eat for little money. Plus it's a stunning city that will treat the visitor good!
  • Awwww this brought back so many memories. I loved growing up here. I had my first volunteer job at the Bruce Museum. I love l'escale but you missed Garden Catering. Its a local multi generational favorite with the best fried food you'll ever eat. Also you didnt get to go toTodds Point. Although you need to be a resident to go to Todds. Next time you visit us you need to go to both if you can get a guest pass or go with someone :))

I love greenwhich. Its a beautiful place.. The only thing is in the summer, the beaches are expensive for non residents. I'm from Connecticut and still would have to pay a lot to go the beach there...but theres a lot to see. Nice video. All the best..
  • James, next time you come let me know. We have a food show all about the best food in Greenwich. You could of made a guest appearance! Enjoyed your video. I look forward to following. - Mike

nice day trip. perhaps the island part was purposefully confusing...who knows. looks like a tranquil upscale spot to visit.

Great idea, laptop free zone, so many places have people sat the entire day using up seats for one coffee but all the while glued to their screen.

My god Greenwich is so wealthy you need to check out the houses
  • Tell Pete Gas of the mean Street Posse I said keep it groovy, Cheerio. I am loving the views, looks like a real righteous place.
