"What's for lunch? I don't know!" Had me WHEEZING knowing what was coming omfg

The dinner is from her stalker's pov, that's why the lyrics are so over the top. The melody at the end of bittersuite is the melody of an old unreleased song called "true blue", it is really famous among the community of her fans, we were waiting years for her to release it and a part of it is in the first part of blue.

the fact that the diner is written from HER irl stalkers pov😭😭

I completely see why she didn’t do a single, because these songs all feel SO connected to one another in an even more present way than her previous albums. My favorite part has to be that the orchestral part of Skinny is the same melody as the massive uproar in The Greatest, and then that comes back again towards the end of Blue. I’ve been a Billie fan forever and think this is my favorite project of hers so far!

the important part of Spirited away in relation to the song Chihiro is forgetting/remembering your name holds a lot of power in the movie and the song is all about not knowing someone anymore but continuing to go back and try even though things clearly aren't working "said you wont forget my name" "i don't know you at all" "there's a part of me that recognizes you, do you see it too?"

the transitions in this album are crazy

and billie said "let there be the most important meal of the day"

you can also find in the songs before BLUE a lot of references to 'being blue' or 'turning blue': that's because BLUE is a mix of both previously unreleased tracks TRUE BLUE and BORN BLUE that were highly requested to be released by her fans for a few years now! even the end of BITTERSUITE was a teaser to tell her fans that in the following song they'd finally be able to listen to those unreleased tracks :)

I love the triple meaning of bittersuite. That it plays like an orchestral suite with distinct parts serving the whole! I’m obsessed.
  • When Billie says "but when can I hear the next one?" There's a theory that there's going to be a double release this year, or a double album. I've heard fans call it the "ilomilo" theory since they skipped it when playing WWAFAWDWG before the announcement of this album. And ilomilo are two characters in a video game, one of them is blue and the other is red. Which is why they have been saying that there's gonna be another album with a red theme. Could be a reach tho

I'd like to think that the album cover is related to the Happier Than Ever music video? The water rushes in through the door as she opens it (which I'd like to think reflects how her career and fame etc just came rushing in) and this album has been her sitting in all of that and her experiences and feelings since that rollercoaster. Just me? Hahaha

as a queer billie fan, lunch has quite literally changed the trajectory of my life.

fun little thing about this album: there is a recurring melody throughout the whole thing, we hear it in the strings in SKINNY, in the second part of THE GREATEST, and in BLUE, it's so sick this album is genius
  • @seabbird
it’s not an album without a caitlin reaction

i love how you also noticed the different singing style she's using here than her past works, it has the same technique from before but with a mixed voice, and she's letting out her chest voice more on this album than she ever did before, i watched her belts grow since she proved everyone in No Time To Die that she can't just use airy-voice all the time ("whisper singing" they say) but that she can also belt out notes, the live no time to die performances before seems like she has some struggles even the recording videos, but she seems more comfortable doing belts now, I'm so happy for her and her journey with exploring singing styles😭😩
