Hi Tim, the mysterious orange thing in the kitchen is a paraffin oil burner. You put the oil in the bottom. The three things is where the three wicks are (ajustable with the round things). They are quite old fashioned. You put a pot on it and used to simmer (slow cook) stew or beef. Anything really. My mum has several which she still uses 😅 Yes, i'm Dutch 😂
  • Hi Tim, we live in Amsterdam, just 2 streets from the bridge house you stayed in. We pass this place almost every day and we know it is a ‘hotel room’ now. But we never stayed in it so we are very happy with your video which gave us the opportunity to look inside. This part of Amsterdam has been build around 1925 and the interior of the bridge house is still authentic. Like the sink f.e. Where the orange stool is standing now, used to be the location for a coal stove. Greetings from Amsterdam, Ronald & Astrid

From the Burj, to a jumbo jet, to a crane, to the Wynn and now - to a camper - TIM - where have you been all of our lives?! Your videos are just amazing!!!!! Thanks for so many smiles!

My favorite videos of yours are the ones when you go to these interesting, different kinds of hotels. It’s very cool of you to show us these places. Thank you.

The indoor caravan one looks as if you are staying in a 1950s caravan show room lol.
  • @BreakingTheLore
That would be like camping in the tent section of Go Outdoors

I loved the first one - looked very cute. The second one , with the caravans is a great idea but having the toilets so far away (it’s like finding the loos in a Wetherspoons!) would put me off!

The first place was my absolute dream! And I was surprised by the value. This WILL be happening for me, thanks for the heads-up!
  • The item at 5:25 is called a Petroleumstel. A tyipicla Dutch stove. Works by burning kerosene stove and is ideally suited for simmering stew meat and stewed fruits.
  • This is certainly a very cozy one! Every single time I watch your videos, I think, "This one is the best!" You just keep outdoing yourself. Thank you for the amazing, enjoyable videos!

The card with the black cat make the room even more inviting to me !
  • I loved the bridge keeper houses. Really cute. Every thing you needed. Camper is "ify". Don't like getting dressed to use the bathroom. All in all it looks like a fun experience and it was definitely different. Safe travels home.
  • I quite like the idea of the outside inn. I often travel solo but don't like sharing rooms with others in hostels and often find private hotel rooms to be quite expensive. It seems like a perfect middle ground for someone like me. Also fully understand the awkwardness of running to a bathroom in a shared space. Last time I stayed in a hostel I was wandering to the bathroom in my pyjamas at 2am and ended up in a conversation with a person wearing a suit 😂

I'm a solo traveler and I'd love to sleep in either of those places! Thanks for showing them off, Tim! Oh, and never, ever stop letting us know how many people can fit in the shower - it's one of my favorite bits! Cheers from the USA

Fab video as usual. I love the caravans and beach huts , they really made me smile. The rain on the roof took me right back to being a little girl. I still love the sound now … reminds me of happy care free times
  • Walked past these when visiting my Dutch family but would have never thought they were hotels. So cool!
  • @ckitch1391
Wow Tim, loved those caravans...took me back to 70s holidays 😅 very retro & très chique 👍
  • @carleenspada2293
“LOVE IT !!!” Darling little campers. What fun it would be to spend one night in that atmosphere ❣️🇺🇸
  • @marieryan2541
Hi Tim. I love both of the two quirky places you stayed in. Both have their own unique charm about them. They also looked very inviting and cosy too.
